Very cute hotel right across from the beach, just a few minute's drive from the main town road with restaurants. We arrived late and didn't see the view until the morning, wow! Just walk out of your room, cross the street and the most ocean view I have ever seen (and I've seen many!) appears before you. Gorgeous. There's a lovely wood path that runs above the beach, lots of greenery, a cute romantic bench surrounded by trees and a sea view. The room is clean and tasteful, everything in working order, a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was a bit too many carbs for my taste, and not incredibly fresh, but fine. Highly recommended!

I stayed at this hotel one night en route to Big Sur and had the best time. It was so quaint and romantic - right on the beach, fireplace in the room, and in the morning they delivered a basket to our room with breakfast (which included fresh local pastries!) at no charge. The staff was super nice and helpful. If I'm ever in Cambria again I will definitely be going back to the Sea Otter Inn.

Very charming little hotel right across from beautiful beach boardwalk. Room and grounds were nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was light. Would highly recommend.

This was a great place to end our California coast vacation. The staff was helpful and friendly. We made liberal use of the free coffee, cookies, and muffins. The room was a decent size and reasonably clean for an older motel. The free breakfast in a picnic basket was a perfect way for us grab and go to the beach to eat.

We loved this stop on our way down the coast! Little place tucked away. Directly across from the ocean with access to a beach walking trail. Comfortable rooms. Clean and cozy. Working gas fireplace made the room very comfortable. BEST continential breakfast on our week-long trip. Arrived late- very welcoming staff. We had a problem with the tv and they fixed it right away. Just 5 minutes from Hearst Castle and 15 minutes from the Bull Seals. Cute little town! Great place!

Nice access to ocean; Cloned "rustic by the sea" accomodations; neat & overpriced. Will try a different venue next time.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms very clean and comfortable at a convenient location.

The hotel is clean and pretty with nice landscaping. The rooms have their own fireplaces that a lot of guests really enjoy. I opened the windows to let in some of that wonderful sea air and some ocean breezes. Very pleasurable

The room was immaculate with updated furnishings. Across the road from the boardwalk and down the street from a restaurant where we enjoyed a late night dessert.

We went to see the elephant seals giving birth. The motel is convenient for that, as well as being close to town and services. We have stayed there several times and always enjoyed our stay.

Just across the street from Moonstone beach. Rooms were nicely done with gas fireplaces. I would consider it a very good value inn.

Friendly staff, room felt like home yet a vacation. View from windows great, location great.

Great location to set off from for Hearst Castle, which is just a short drive away. The beach and boardwalk across the road from the hotel are spectacular, make sure you are there to watch the sun set.

We arrived just in time for a spectacular sunset and were quickly checked into our room by a friendly desk clerk. After a short sunset watch we headed down the beach for a nice dinner at The Moonstone Cafe which is just down the street. The next morning, I walked down to he boardwalk and stair for a few peaceful minutes near the beautiful tidepools where I collected a few pieces of driftwood to remind us of our stay. Just a great way to visit this wonderful area.

The location couldn't have been better. The beach was right across the street with great walking paths. If you're not into walking just step out front and take a seat on one of the lawn chairs facing the ocean to take in some sunshine and/or the beautiful sunset. The proprietor was friendly, rooms clean and nicely decorated with lovely landscaping.

rooms are decorated very friendly, the freshbrewed coffe very likely with real stoneware cups

We've stayed on Moonstone Beach Road before, but not this particular motel. It was similar to the others-1960-70 old but clean- great location, great restaurant advice. Was looking forward to the spa which wouldn't stay on- needed maintenance. Price was good..overall fine.

Right across from the beach boardwalk and the sea lions. Short walk to local restaurants and 5 minute drive to Hearst Castle. Nice clean room with a continental breakfast.

The Sea Otter was an great value for the money. As it was cold in Cambria during our visit, the inroom fireplace was really appreciated. We asked to extend our stay and the staff was quite helpful in making sure we could stay in the same room. Our room had a comfortable bed, a table big enough for dining and card playing, an excellent shower, and plenty of storage space in the room and in the bathroom. The ocean was across the street, and two excellent restaurants were only a 5-10 minute walk away.

The Sea Otter Inn is accross the street from the Ocean on Moonstone Drive - a great location. The grounds are attractively landscaped and the room quite nicely decorated. Bathroom is a little shabby but clean. No restaurant and breakfast you pick up and take back to your room to eat. In room gas fireplace could be very pleasant in cool weather. Great place to stay while exploring the great wineries in Paso Robles. Also close to Hearst Castle.
