The room was beautiful. A 400-year-old Spanish colonial home, renovated and converted to a hotel. High ceilings, hardwood floors and plenty of space. It is a grand place. My only complaint was the noise. It is on a busy street where diesel buses rumble by and you feel the whole place shake. Bring earplugs! On the plus side there’s a beautiful orange Gato that roams the lobby. Having a house cat always brings it up a notch. Great location, very nice people.

Great value

The hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. It is in an old Spanish Colonial layout, so lots of staircases and interior balconies and odd rooms. Really fun. The roof deck has a marvellous view and is huge. Overall, it is not opulent, but it is a great value. The only downside is totally not the hotel's fault. A new business just opened across the street with fairly loud music. Loud noises are a latin american staple, so experienced travellers who can cope will really enjoy the hotel. Guests expecting a quiet place in the woods will be disappointed. I am hoping that, by the time you read this, the noisy business will have closed or been forced to tone down. Then del Capitan will once again be a truly great value.

Nice stay, few blocks away from the zocalo but still walking distance. Area is noisy but that comes with staying downtown. Good: Room (#2) was large, very nice property and attentive staff To improve: bed and pillows need to be upgraded

Nice colonial building with super nice staff.

Would go back again. But I would ask for a room not facing the karaoke bar, that plays until 2 am. Staff was super nice and attentive.

Great value, great location

The hotel is really pleasant - and the best thing about it is the location. It's a 5-10 minute walk (all through an interesting and safe area) to the Zócalo, cathedral, etc.etc.Lots of food choices (from cheap but good street food to very nice restaurants) as wellas shopping and markets nearby.

Hotel was great we were there as couples had 2 rooms, quiet comfortable rooms, We ended up booking a second night. Staff were exceptional and very accomadting.

Great place to stay when in Puebla.

Booked via Hotels.com, very comfortable place , beds etc. Staff are all very friendly and helpful with recommendations on where to go and directions. Off site secure parking but very close. We liked it so much we ended up booking a second night. Will definitely stay here again when in Puebla.

Nice small cozy hotel.

About 10 min walking to the Zocalo. Everybody were friendly and helpful. Now they have a coffeeshop. Really good food and very cheap prices. Really nice menu . All kinds of good coffee and healthy fresh juices, and nice breakfast. And didn't have to wait longoing to get the food. Everybody always willing to help you. Thank you guys@
