We booked at this hotel with expectations of being able to use the bar area to gather with other families we are traveling with. The bar is closed permanently and we did not know about this until arriving in having to ask because it appears in working order. The staff are very nice and very accommodating.

They had our booking confused and checked us out after our first day. They also said they wouldn't charge us for our water but they did. $4 may not be much to people but it's the fact they said they wouldn't.

Affordable, not too far from the city.

Check in was super easy. Very friendly people working at the front desk. Nice touch with the warm chocolate chip cookies. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Lots of pillows available. No funky smells. The halls and stairs were pretty run down. The walls from the floor up about three feet was stripped of paint. Not sure if there is some remodel work happening. It was probably one of the nicest days of the year in Portland but there was no outdoor seating available. There is a little courtyard but it didn't have seating and didn't appear to be open. Could definitely be a nice spot to relax if they take advantage.
