I stayed at the Holiday Inn Newark International Airport and was shocked to find bed bugs in my room. We immediately reported it to the front desk and showed photos and evidence, but management’s only response was to “call back tomorrow” for a possible 50% refund since the manager would be in at 3pm. That’s completely unacceptable for a serious health and sanitation issue. The staff did not offer to relocate us, properly inspect the room, or provide immediate assistance. We had to handle everything ourselves, including isolating our luggage and clothing to avoid bringing the infestation home. A hotel under a major brand like IHG should have clear emergency procedures for this kind of situation, not delay action or minimize the problem. Travelers deserve better hygiene, faster response, and accountability. Would not recommend staying here until they address their pest control and management training
