Great Stay, But Needs Better Airflow and Parking

We had a great overall experience at The Dayton House. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the location is perfect—right on the beach with easy access to everything. The only downsides were the parking and the lack of airflow inside the building. Parking was tight and a bit frustrating, and the hallways and common areas felt stuffy with no air moving through. It made it uncomfortable walking to and from the room. Still, the positives outweighed the negatives, and we’d consider staying again—especially if those issues are addressed.

Be aware they have a few buildings

It was good I didn’t knew the had a few buildings so to get your breakfast you got to wak to another building and also we had stay in the building across the street from the area of the beach.

The construction was very loud. Couldn’t relax on beach and they made the water muddy when they were working. Not very happy

Housekeeping was subpar and we had to ask daily for fresh towels. At one point the phone operator told us to bring our dirty towels downstairs to exchange for new ones. I complained to the front desk and they said they would tell the cleaning supervisor for that floor. The first room we were assigned smell heavy of old cigarette smoke. I can go on on but I leave it at that. It was mediocre at best.

The room was very nice, King bed, balcony with a pool/ocean front view. The front desk staff were polite, helpful, and personable. The free breakfast at the Rose Room was good and the staff very friendly and bubbly. The pools and hot tubs were clean and heated to perfection. There were ample lounge chairs and other seating. My husband and I had a very good time and hope to visit Dayton Myrtle Beach again in the future. The only thing that was a little bit inconvenient was the beach construction (which you have no control over.). It just made it a little harder to get to the facilities available by the suite building and sometimes having to walk around pilings on the beach. When the construction is completed it will be great. Thank you Dayton House Staff for a very pleasant vacation.

I wish i could give this a lower rating. The pictures are totally deceptive. 1. We had 4 rooms in total- 2 ours and 2 our friends - there was no housekeeping. 2. Mold in the bathrooms 3. One room had 3 roaches. They needed to send someone to SPRAY. 4. Piece of the popcorn ceiling fell on me during the night 5. The entire side of our room was wet- wet carpet. 6. When my daughter pulled the sheets there was hair. 7. Let’s just not even talk about breakfast. DON’T go. Just don’t. Every single person we met shared the exact disappointment. This was just a horrible experience. I now need a vacation from my vacation.

Great location with easy access to the beach. City Construction in the area was communicated only after reservations were made (and paid for). The construction impacted accessability along the beach and was quite noisy throughout the day.
