The hotel had recently been remodeled but whoever they hired did a terrible job. It looks good at first glance, but I started to notice many issues like major misalignment of the door (major gap that let noise and light thru), tile grout all over the bathroom, etc. Also the floors and walls were super thin. I could hear people going up and down the hall all night. It made it very hard to sleep. It didn't help that I stayed on a Friday, and it seemed like everyone in the hotel was up all night, running up and down the halls. The location of the hotel is decent. You're within a few blocks of the main bus hub and lots of restaurants. Also only about a mile from the old town. The staff was friendly and helpful.
accessible to all gay establishments ..............................
so convenient for me to go any places in town by bus or metro
Very nice clean and comfortable is it down town only the parking problems
The hotel is old and run down in someways, but a great place to stay. Great location, cheap, quite, good service. I will stay there every time I go to Montreal from now on. Really, my only complaint is that there needs to be a waste basket by the bed and maybe a full length mirror by the door. Otherwise, great!
Great Location for the money.. right in the middle of the Village.. small room,, small shower... and the pillows were not that great,, Staff was courteous... :-)
Perfect location - on a side street off of Rue St Catherine. It was close enough to the action without being loud from street noise. Very clean. A little outdated, but since I was hardly in the room, I didn't mind that. Friendly staff. The free continental breakfast in the morning was a nice touch. It was delivered to my hotel room door, I didn't even have to leave my room to get it. I would absolutely stay here again, and I would recommend it to anyone.
The St. Andre hotel was ok. I loved the area where it is, the staff and bed. The bathroom was spacious and nice. they offered nice fluffy towels. The staff was very helpful. Saleem was super nice taking his time to explain all the sightseeing and how to get there. They bring you a continental to your room and you can schedule it to your convenience. What I didn't like was the fact they didn't clean the bathroom properly. They never washed the sink and toilet. The room floor was dusty for couple days until my last night, apparently it was swept. However, I recommend the hotel because the staff and location make it worth it.
Everything was good except the entrance, it was always dirty and smell awfull
The staff was fine, but the hotel was run down and not clean or up to date. We won't be staying there again.
Great location and a block from 3 major metro lines. Very friendly staff.
A very dated hotel in need of some major upgrades. Stayed one night at Hotel St Andre and I was glad it was only for the one night. Some stains on the white bed sheets were a bit of a turnoff, and the interior and furniture in the room was very old. Bed squeaked a lot when moving around and the lamps were dusty. Some positives though are the location (30 second walk to St Catherine St/2 minutes to Station Berri-UQAM), the friendly service, and a decent continental breakfast delivered right to your room!)
We found this hotel last time we visited Montreal and liked that it is clean, hotel staff is friendly and willing to give you info about the city, it is comfortable( not the Ritz comfortable but you can get a good night sleep) and you don't feel like you are unsafe in this hotel. This hotel is in a great place right off of St. Catherine and not far from many great Montreal sites and right near a subway stop too, the staff will tell you how to use the subway if you have questions. One of our favorite things about this hotel that we were never aware of was that you get breakfast brought to your room, it is not eggs and bacon but it is a nice baguette and croissant with coffee and juice. It is free and a real nice thing in the morning. We have made this hotel our go to in Montreal and will always stay here.
I enjoyed staying there very friendly people there
There is no parking, you have to park at your own risk, on the street or nearby small parking lots. I thought I read in one of the reviews that there was parking, that"s why I booked this hotel.. bed is squeaky.. older hotel with very small sink, needs updating..
