We liked the propert, it was different but it seemed runned down. The room was very dark and not well lit. Seemed to need some upgrading due to wall discoloration and dirty or stained towels. The bowling alley didn’t function very good and not enough bowling ball selection (bf has large hands/ fingers). Food selection was only from the one burger restaurant for room service. Did the service for a couple of nights but not worth the cost.

Not happy. 😞

Receptionist was not friendly. Arrived 7 minutes before check in and she said we could go have a seat for 7 minutes or we would be charged $50 for an early check in. We paid and went straight to the room. It was ready. Not friendly or a great first impression. Beds were not comfortable. Will not be back. 😞

Ok But Not Great

A bit of a strange experience. The whole place closes down by 6:30 on Sunday ev enings inmcluding all their restaurants. they have a free shuttle to downtown Memphis but for the return trip, you might have to wait for one hour. They should let you know thjat up front so you can plan for that. The whole place is dimly lit. There are no overhead lights in the rooms. While that is nice and cozy, it's difficult to see where you'v e put down your ipad or socks. the bed was comfortable but every time one person moved, the other person felt that movement. The breakfast buffet had good selection but was not all that tasxty. The pastries were stale. All in all- not worth the $.

For the money spent and the space available there should have been more activities, maybe incorporate a pool, mini golf or some sort of other activities for families to do. Downtown Memphis was filthy with homeless people harassing you at every step. Little police presence made it feel more unsafe, leading to our family wanting to return to the resort which did not offer many activities. The price of the stay was overpriced for what was offered.

I’m sad because my daughter and I came to Memphis for a college visit and picked the lodge due to its rating and higher price point thinking it would be a much nicer property than It was. The front desk staff and valet were very nice…but we are pretty sure we had bedbugs in our room and the room did not feel clean. We both itched all night long and the next morning (horrifying). The breakfast buffet was $24 per person and absolutely terrible. Fake eggs, rotten pineapple, gross rubber pancakes and hard waffles…neither my daughter or I really ate anything because it was so remarkably bad. The area around the hotel is well…pretty dirty and dangerous but that’s because it’s Memphis it’s not the hotel’s fault. Can I laugh and tell people I stayed in the pro shop pyramid? Yes. Would I ever come back? Absolutely not.

This hotel is very unique which makes it fun to visit. The timing of some things was not always convenient. Also the staff could have explained how things worked a lot better. For example the shuttle service, and the sky ride. The rooms were super comfortable. The towels came with stains on several of them but are very plush.

The only thing we really didn’t like about this was the breakfast wasn’t included in the cost of the stay. They do offer a buffet or made to order options but it was $24 per person for the buffet & a bit less than that for the made to order options such as omelettes, yogurt bowls, etc. Would like to see the breakfast buffet option included as part of the stay.
