"My wife and I were extremely disappointed with our stay from the moment we walked in for check-in to the moment we left. Upon approaching the front desk, I noticed the employee was watching a video on her phone and a nearby maintenance worker had to alert her to my presence as she was not paying attention. She begun my check-in process, which included additional charges for early check-in and a pet fee (which we were aware of) but she charged them to a different guest with the same last name. I alerted her to the error and she made the correction and provided me with a receipt for the refund to my credit card. However the provided receipt included all the contact information for the other guest (i.e., name, email, and phone number) which made me question the security of my personal information.
As for the conditions of the room, we were immediately greeted by a strong mildew odor and my wife noticed live, small cockroaches in the mini fridge. We weren’t able to put food inside the fridge that we had brought from home. After inspecting the rest of the room, we discovered more roaches in the bathroom and crawling around on various pieces of furniture. Surprisingly, the bed was moderately comfortable and appeared to be clean. Ultimately, after an uneasy night, we decided to check-out a day earlier and cut our trip short.
Happy to provide pictures / videos of the roaches if requested. This visit has made us question if we’ll choose another La Quinta property in the future."
