It might be a retirement home. The smell reminded me of one where I volunteered as a teen. I also saw many elderly women without tourist vibes. My room was a shoebox. The waiter at breakfast was very kind.

It is an overpriced hotel. Night was USD$355. Breakfast very basic and limited, and the room quite small. The shower was very uncomfortable and there was no help with the suitcases. I stayed at the hotel The Emperador and the night was only USD$254, better breakfast, better room, better hotel and USD$100 cheaper.

Spacious, quiet room near the Gran Via

The hotel is well located steps from the Gran Via yet tucked into a quiet enough side street that it felt calm. My room was quite large for Madrid. New tile floors have been added to lobby and salon areas. Management seems to be upgrading common numerous areas.

This place is PERFECT. Walking distance to everything needed. The metro is right there the theaters. Mamma Mia is 1 minute away and so is Lion King and some others. The staff super nice. And from outside it feels like a medieval alley! Me encanto todo de este hotel. Volvere!
