My wife and I had a wonderful stay for 3 nights during our time in Kyoto. Mr. Yoneda reached out to me several days in advance of our arrival with check-in information along with photos to show clear directions from the train station to the house. He greeted us when we showed up, explained all that we needed to know about the house and ensured that all of our questions were answered.
The accommodations in the home had what we were looking for in Kyoto: a traditional Japanese-style townhouse with tatami mats and Machiya wooden architecture that is prevalent in Kyoto along with modern comforts to make our stay comfortable and complete. The house is tucked away from the local street that provided privacy, peace and quiet. The house is also perfectly located just minutes walk from the Kyoto Station with all the public transportation connections we needed to all the sights we visited as well as the presence of nearby konbini and shopping mall. The nearby coin-operated laundromat was a welcome added bonus that we took advantage of.
The house was clean and tidy and had more than enough space for my wife and I to enjoy. Our host also provided written instructions to make things clear on how to operate the home appliances. It had most of the conveniences expected in a modern Japanese home.
Thank you Mr. Yoneda for your hospitality and for opening up your home during our visit in Kyoto. Our memories of Kyoto have certainly been enriched with our stay at the Yui guesthouse.
