The Pembroke is a great hotel in the heart of Kilkenny. Free parking that is moderate walking distance away. Very large bathroom and shower. Nice bar/restaurant and the breakfast was delicious.

100% for The Pembroke!! The staff was fabulous, welcoming and accommodating for our needs. A two minute walk to the castle. Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms. Parking on site. We can’t say enough. Hoping to return some day. Rachel was particularly helpful.

All the staff we met were excellent. Efficient, helpful and friendly. The room was big, clean and with everything you need. The breakfast was unbeatable. Great choice and premium produce. Brilliant location, you can walk to everything.

2nd time staying here, rebooked as handy city centre location with parking. We booked the superior king over classic room this time & it was very spacious & larger super king bed. Room looks worn though furniture dated very minimalist & needs a update blank walls without any personal touch. Window lock faulty & bed large but very hard but no pillow top. We also paid extra for breakfast which is good value but limited veggie/health conscious options & could do with more planning out eg a choose what you want hot egg option. Staff overall very polite & helpful. Will definitely consider staying again but just not quite 4 stars in experience.

I think your room type can really decide how your stay was here- we upgraded to the castle view suite and were obsessed with our room. Other parties staying on lower floors enjoyed the hotel but the experience was very different. For the castle view suite, you have a stunning view of the castle and a lot of modern touches, like a heated towel rack, rain shower and tub with bath salts, lights that can automatically turn to night mode or open your blinds, and some free alcohol in your fridge. The beds were super comfy and the air con worked well. Front desk staff was friendly and check in and check out was simple. They have a small parking lot out back which was free but tight. Breakfast onsite was spectacular- from the free items you get in the beginning, to the coffee, everything was great. We did have one cocktail at the lounge and they had a great selection, including drinks with fresh mint. Did not use the spa but prices seemed fair. Would definitely recommend staying here, especially in the castle view suite.
