Everything was clean and organized

Buildings and rooms were supposed to be smoke free but were not. Nearby room guests were continually smoking pot and it permeated the hallways, balconies, elevator, and our rooms. When reported to front desk staff, we were offered a room on another floor. Again, the wafting strong smell of pot occurred. We left. Pools were dirty. Hallways were not clean with towels and trash outside doors outside of housekeeping times. Also hallways were very hot and did not smell good. The elevator was painfully slow and jerky. Original room was on the 4th floor. Seems like an older area which needs major upgrades. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable, pillows were extremely hard, and carpets were worn and not very clean. Hot water in the shower was scarce during evening hours and shampoo and soap selection in bathroom was Dove, not great quality. For the price point, the hotel should be a much better quality. I will not book this hotel again for those reasons. On a positive note, the location is very good. At the top end of the boardwalk which felt safe and quiet. Only issue was, daytime homeless woman yelling at people who passed by on the boardwalk. It wasn’t very peaceful to listen to her scream at passersby all day, but the boardwalk is public so, nothing hotel can do. There is a small laundry room that guests can use which was convenient. In room refrigerator nice. We did not eat at any restaurant at the hotel as food looked overpriced for basic hotel fare.
