4/5 Good

"My stay began with an excellent first impression. A kind young gentleman and the welcoming front desk staff greeted me warmly upon arrival. Unfortunately, my departure experience was very different. On Monday morning, I called the front desk to request a two-hour extension beyond the 11 a.m. checkout time. The gentleman I spoke with was unfriendly and quoted $100 for just one additional hour. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was transferred to someone whose name I believe was Christin or Christi. Her tone felt rude and dismissive, as though my request was a waste of her time. The hotel appeared unusually quiet, and I was unaware of any convention or baseball game that might explain limited availability. I understand that late checkout is subject to availability and may involve a fee. What disappointed me most was the lack of courtesy or willingness to discuss alternatives. As a frequent traveler, I know how much a departure experience can influence the decision to return. Omni likely invests heavily in attracting guests, yet a dismissive interaction can quickly undo that investment. The property itself is lovely, and the other staff members I encountered were courteous and professional. I have also enjoyed stays at other Omni properties. However, the $75 valet charge seemed steep—roughly $20–$25 more than I have paid at comparable hotels. Overall, a pleasant arrival and an attractive property were overshadowed by disappointing service at checkout."
