We arrived early & the hotel held our luggage while we explored the city. The hotel is located one block from Eyre Square. The rooms are generous in size & our stay was pleasant & quiet. We enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar & the atmosphere was very fun. We also did a tour with Wild Atlantic Tours & they picked us up directly across the street from the hotel. We had a wonderful time & enjoyed our stay!

Good choice for Galway Visit

We had a wonderful stay in Galway and highly recommend the Victoria Hotel especially for its exceptional location within the centre . We even hauled our suitcases from the train station as it was only minutes away. Breakfast was fine , bed was comfortable …. Good solid spot in heart of Galway!

Nice property, great location. However, we booked and paid for our room months ahead and had asked for (and been confirmed) a room with a Queen bed. We are both over 6ft tall, so bed size was important to the booking. When we arrived (around 6PM) we were told that our bedding of choice was no longer available because it had been given to someone who had checked in earlier. ??? This would have been understandable if we had not paid in advance. In any case, we had to make due with twin beds that were small for our requirements, Very disappointing

The hotel staff was great. The breakfast was great. The hotel not so much. We were on the side of the hotel where we could hear bottles being discarded overnight many times, then the trash truck collecting the bottles very early in the morning. The hotel has no air conditioning so we had to leave our windows open to get any cool air at all. We would not stay at this hotel again.
