We are locals and stayed there to enjoy a NYE Eve celebration close to the hotel. The first night, Dec 30th, our fan creaked so loud we couldn’t sleep. The next morning, we the door was paper thin, we heard nonstop screaming and running. We ordered breakfast to our room (omelette with ham/swiss/egg) and wheat toast. What arrived was a burnt omelette with bacon and cheddar and rye toast. When I asked to speak with a manager (the manager on duty Dec 31 at 11 am) she told me I probably ordered the wrong thing! HUH!? When the correct order came, it was freezing cold and the toast was uncooked and was the butt of the bread. Next, my little daughter got into the shower and when I went in to check the temp, the shower was covered in dirt and at least 8 pieces of men’s hair. I quickly wiped the disgusting stuff up so my daughter wouldn’t be exposed and put it into a glass. I called to the manager on duty again and sent her an email with the video and photos. She was completely unapologetic and my husband walked down the glass of hair and filth and she still couldn’t care less. When we got back from dinner that night, I called to see if we could check out at 1 pm Jan 1 (only 2 hours later) since we barely slept the night night before bc of the fan and noise, horrible man child on duty, hung up on me and called me a liar to my face when I came to front desk. NEVER AGAIN.

Staff, amenities and cleanliness are tops. It was disappointing the towels at the beach were not renewed, so that it required going back to the pool at acquire them. Our past stay we had an ocean view room. We decided on Oceanside room this time. It was sorely misrepresented on the web site and disappointing and the door to the balcony was difficult to open. We’re planning a spring trip for a bit longer stay.

Great location, clean spacious rooms, our rooms weren’t quite ready at 1630 for check in and after 24 hours of travelling this wasn’t great but after 30 mins became available. Amazing food at all the dining locations, beautifully decorated for Christmas, I would highly recommend.

Professional, extremely competent and very friendly staff. The view of the ocean from our patio was amazing. I wish I was better at remembering names but everyone from the front desk, the concierge, the beach, pool and towel staff along with all the servers and house keepers all deserve my highest praise. They are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food and drinks were excellent all week long. My wife and I are looking forward to returning soon. Thanks Pelican Grand for a wonderful stay.
