Scary situation

The bed was comfortable and the room was, ok. Only concern was that i got an a joining room. My door to the other room did not lock and the people in the room next to me were able to come in. Thank goodness my brother got that room.

The check-in was quick. The waffles in the morning were excellent. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. The location is conveniently located near HEB, gas station, mall, Walmart, shopping strip, movie theater and restaurants.

This hotel is currently undergoing upkeep and renovations. They are booking out rooms that have not been maintained properly, knowing things like the air conditioner leaks and will flood the room. Their solution and explanation is there should have been a garbage can under it to catch the leak they knew about when they rented the room and that a staff member must have removed this leak bucket during cleaning. They did not apologize nor provide a refund nor a different room. They also charge extra for a smoking room during booking and didn't refund the difference for that either after putting us in a freshly painted room they said was now non-smoking. They did they compensate us for everything getting wet and even though I had room insurance they denied a claim because the hotel was kept open by management and not shut down for the above reasons. The hotel did not even give us laundry service for our wet clothes and I had to get quarters from their desk to pay for the machine (there is also only 1 machine for all guests in the entire hotel).

The motel property, grounds and neighborhood have clearly seen better days. There is a pool, but I did not use it. My room was adequate with clean towels and sheets. The room has a microwave, small fridge, TV, some sort of safe that I didn't bother trying to use, and coffee maker. Breakfast served in the lobby area starts at 06:00. They offered toast and assorted jelly packs, packets of oatmeal, muffins, hardboiled eggs, juice packs, waffles and coffee. There's an HEB across the street if you want additional food. For the money, the motel was adequate.

The pictures on website do not look like the property. It’s an old place and it smells moldy. We stayed anyways because there are no refunds per the website. All the hallways and the elevator were very hot. This includes the rooms, being summer I figured the air would be turned on. It took hours for the room to cool down. Pool was closed and green.

Property was unsafe for guests to stay at as it had bed bugs. When brought to the attention of the manager, she stated, “they aren’t bedbugs, they are drain flies” so clearly we had the insect name wrong. Regardless, no insects should be on a bed for anyone. Management was very rude and unfriendly.
