When we arrived the hotel was closed. There was nobody there. We had called several hours earlier because we knew of the winter storm and how it might have affected the area but we didn’t receive a callback or a notification that they were closed. We were essentially stranded when we arrived.

This is Bridgeport, so do NOT expect the Hilton! Simply a nice, clean & quite, friendly place to stay overnight at for a (relatively) reasonable price. (And the Mexican restaurant across the road is excellent!)

The staff was friendly, the Lodge was easy to locate. It reminded me of the motels built in the 1950s. Its location was wonderful, right next to one of the best fly fishing rivers in California . Inside the room was spacious, but dated. I came there “ out of season” in October. I would recommend this place for fishing in the Spring thru Summer when the weather is better. Just know that Bridgeport is a small town, with loads of charm surrounded by beautiful Mountain Views and three lakes to fish from, and literally minutes from lots of other lakes worth fishing. If you’re a hiker, mountain climber, it a short drive to Yosemite’s Tioga pass at 9000 ft asl. Parking was right in front of your room, I think they are also pet friendly, at least the dog in the office was a sweetie. I think he/she belonged to the receptionist. Do be aware of the wildlife in the area, I did see a large male Bobcat on the lawn between my unit and the Walker River during the rain storm. That’s about it, I would like to come back and drag my brother ( the fisherman) with me he would love it.

Riverview king was worth it.

Really comfy and enjoyable. Tbh the carpet smells a little musty, but otherwise we really enjoyed our stay. Our "riverview king" had a little table & chairs, and a nice reading chair inside, and patio chairs for extra chill. Comfy new bed & bedding.

3-day stay at Walker Lodge Inn

Left 1 x day early as: no hot water on morning after driving 450mi to Bridgeport. Was informed there would be no help after 10pm….as a matter of course. PTAC was too noisy to operate. Toilets are old, don’t flush well and are too low for most male adults. Lots of flies in my room and bed is ridged in the middle. In other words, the mattress needs to be flipped or replaced. Lots of outside noise at 0205 from either a motorcycle or quad bike roaring up and down Main St. Quiet after several Police cars turned up. Sign outside says “Voted best motel in California”…….my big, fat foot!
