Seasonal Road Closure Notice: HWY 120 (Tioga Pass) generally closes for the winter from late October through late June. Daily closures can also occur during periods of inclement weather in spring and fall. The Eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park is located 45 minutes from Mammoth Lakes. Yosemite's Eastern Gate or Tuolumne Meadows is not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. All other Yosemite National Park entrances are open year round. Walker River lodge was perfectly acceptable- it was safe and quiet (other than the other guests who had a screaming fit outside one evening), the rooms were clean and comfortable, mattress was comfortable, showers took a while to get hot and low pressure but other than that I recommend staying here. It’s a great option as a base to explore the beauty of the area.

It was a good stay. We went there for the hot springs, it just snowed the day before. We had a river view room that has the view of the beautiful snow. Front desk was very friendly and gave us suggestions regarding the road closures. I’ll definitely stay here in the future if I visit the area again.

We had a wonderful stay here! The staff was incredibly helpful—one of them even lent us her personal ice remover to clear the ice from our windshield. Thank you for going above and beyond!

The Walker River Lodge was a safe, clean and friendly hotel in a small town. There was a nice view of the river out of a sliding glass door. There were two heaters in the room which was great. The staff were super friendly with great suggestions for dinner and breakfast.

Exterior: Spalling concrete in entry walkway. Interior: 1. Room was too small for a king bed, difficult to move around in room. 2. Microwave and coffee maker on side bed stand. 3. Bathroom sink in bedroom area.
