Very nice outside seating if the weather is nice has a large deck and it has a nice big family room and dining room for family gatherings, basement was redone very nicely beds were just ok

Peaceful getaway

TThis place is perfect if you are traveling with a big family. It is very clean, in a quiet neighborhood, and has a great view. The house has everything you need; we felt just like we were at home.

Not what we were hoping for

We were a family of 12, staying 4 nights. We needed all beds, as advertised in the listing. The host notified us prior to arrival to let us know that the carpet had to be cleaned due to the previous guests apparently trashing it, and it would be damp. No problem, stuff happens, he refunded us for that night. The problems came after that. The two airbeds for the downstairs common areas were piled on the floor in a closet, tumbled amongst them was the needed bedding. We had to blow up the airbeds, and wash the bedding, before we could use them. All of the towels were neatly folded, appearing ready, in all bathrooms. They all had a funky smell, and were "crunchy". Into the washer they went. It took 5 rinses to get all of the soap out of them. The refrigerator contained a very large quantity of outdated condiments, and a bag of half-rotten onions. It was filthy, as was the freezer. Countertops were sticky. Tried to open a window to help dry the carpet, the windowframe was rotting and falling apart. Sorry Josh, can't recommend.

Terrific Experience

5 adults and 2 children. We had a comfortable and relaxing stay while in Boone for a family event. Easy access to highway to go to Des Moines and Ames. Close to essential businesses in the area. Pool table, nice deck, and views of golf course. We recommend the property.

Convenient and spacious

There’s lots of room for a large group to spread out. It seems like a perfect place to stay for Cyclone games or ISU events. Lots of beds (and some blow-ups). Lots of seating upstairs. Not very many dishes or glasses for a real meal for even the seven of us. And no rocks glasses for cocktails. Towels and sheets need a fresh up, I’m afraid they were really musty and stinky from mildew. I let the owner know so he can remedy that. Overall seems like it’s for Frat Bro parties, not women and families.

Great house in a great area, was there for Iowa State graduation. Quick 15 minute ride to campus. House delivered everything it said. Clean, comfortable, would rent again

Great place for a large group

We flew in for a wedding in Boone and this place was a great place for the 12 of us. Four beds plus 3 air mattresses gave us all a comfy place to sleep. We had friends and more family over for dinner one night and were able to seat 16 at the 2 tables and kitchen bar top. All of us enjoyed amazing sunsets sitting on the couch around the fire pit on the back patio. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to this area!

Wedding Weekend

Very spacious, plenty of bathrooms to accommodate our family of 12. Extra area for all our cars that traveled. We enjoyed the end of our very long day sitting on the deck with a fire. Thank you!

Nice location for Iowa Sate Game!

We had 4 couples that stayed at this home for the Iowa State game. The house accommodated all of us with enough bedrooms and common space for us to sit around and visit. Big sofa and lots of chairs. The house could use some love for sure, but otherwise fit the bill for what we needed.

Boone getaway!

Spent the weekend riding the rails and tubing down the river. The house was a perfect location for these activities. Had 4 couples and the house was set up nice so we could all hang out and visit. Communication with the owner was easy when a question came up. If you’re looking for a place in Boone for a big group this house does the trick.

Weekend getaway

We were here for a college visit and made a nice weekend out of it. It’s not far from ISU campus and being on the golf course was a bonus. The great neighborhood, perfect weather, and wonderful location in a lovely home made for a great weekend away!

Great place for ISU graduation weekend

This is a perfect home for a family gathering for Iowa State graduation or football weekends. Plenty of space to spread out and areas to gather and have fun. It's only about 18 minutes to campus! Highly recommend.

Clean and comfortable.

The house was very clean. All the spaces are comfortable and met all of our needs. The owner was very good with communication and very accommodating to us. The only negative…..and we have found this to be the case at most VRBO houses we have rented….was that the outdoor grill had not been cleaned in quite a while. We spent a lot of time cleaning it. Otherwise everything else was excellent.

Enjoyed the size of the house and pool table. Kitchen furnishings could be improved. Most of it was plastic and pans were heavily worn. Would stay here again.

Really enjoyed it.

This house was great for a family get together. We had 10 stay overnight and 16 for most meals. The open floorplan allowed everyone to spend time together. The host was very responsive to questions before and during our stay. We almost didn't spend enough time there and didn't even try out the pool table.

Bachelor party.

We brought a group of 8 for a bachelor party and this place was perfect for us. We slept everybody in the rooms, couches, and air mattresses. We really enjoyed the pool table and the outdoor deck was a hit. This place is a 10/10.

Great stay for the Railcars!!!

Josh's home was absolutely perfect for our stay and it was in a beautiful neighborhood! The home was spacious, clean, comfortable, and we spent much of our time on the deck that overlooks the golf course. We had 12 adults and we fit perfectly. Our purpose for coming to Boone was to ride the rail cars and we were only about 10 minutes from the train station. We had looked into hotels before looking on VRBO. We would have spent more at a hotel and been stuck in small rooms but instead we were lucky enough to find Josh's home. We saved money and had a much better trip than what we would have had if we had gotten a hotel. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay Josh! We hope to come back again and bring the kids next time! :)
