The person who checked us in was absolutely wonderful. I only wish I could remember his name. Very polite, pleasant and efficient. It was overall a great stay, however the pillows on the bed were awful. They were bumpy and very uncomfortable to sleep on and seemed quite old. However I know hotels have been having issues keeping up with bedding, towels, and pillows while hosting evacuees, as we’ve run into this at other hotels recently. But knowing Victoria Inn is very well run, the pillows were a bit disappointing but still had a good sleep.

Extremely Disappointing Experience - Would Never Recommend! I am very disappointed with my recent stay at the Victoria Inn Hotel in Winnipeg. The front desk staff showed a surprising level of ignorance and zero hospitality from the moment we arrived. I had called two weeks in advance to request an early check-in, and the hotel had confirmed it. However, on arrival, I was abruptly told “no,” with no attempt to help or accommodate us. This left me, my elderly parents, my wife, and our 5-month-old baby stranded in the cold and told to “come back in 5 hours.” There was no effort to offer a waiting area, amenities, or even basic guidance on where we could rest after a long flight. We had to leave the property and find somewhere else to recover before returning. When we finally checked in, the front desk simply handed the keys and assumed we knew where everything was. No directions, no assistance, we had to rely on the bellboy. Out of the two rooms we booked, one had a noticeable smell, and the microwave in the other did not work. Additionally, there were no complimentary water bottles provided, which is a basic courtesy in most hotels. What stood out most, ironically, was that the cleaning staff were far more helpful, welcoming, and professional than the front desk. Their genuine courtesy made it clear that they would be better suited to represent the hotel than the current front desk staff, whose fake smiles and dismissive attitude set a terrible tone for our stay.
