Hi, We recently stayed at this hotel as we needed to be near the airport. It was the best price in the area. The reception staff were friendly, competent, and helpful. The room was nicely appointed. Just needs a bit fussier cleaning, hair in bathtub, dust in corners/edges of carpets etc. The furniture is nicked up. The pillows are ridiculously small and made for a very sore neck. Other than that everything was excellent.
Although this is more of a business oriented hotel that is convenient to the airport we were there 2 nights as leisure travelers and found it clean, quiet, and efficiently run with a convenient kitchenette and ample choices at their free breakfast. We needed nothing more and booked at a very reasonable rate. Unless you need to be near a specific event this is a reliable and comfortable place to stay.
I stayed here in July for 1 night, before embarking on a 7-day roadtrip into the US. Was assigned a room on the ground floor down the hall from the reception. This meant we had to keep our curtains drawn the whole time, for privacy as the parking lot and walkway is right outside the window. The room had a nice kitchen, so if you're going to be staying a few nights, this would be a plus. The furniture, in general, however, was in bad shape. The couch had cigarette burns in it. The drawers of the dresser were always in an open position. When I tried to push them shut, they would roll out again. Breakfast in the morning was the biggest disappointment. With so many hotels offering this now (Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn by Marriott, Hilton etc) I was surprised that a Choice Hotel would not be competitive in this regard. At night, upon returning back to the hotel, we were hard pressed to find parking. Seems there is not enough spots for all rooms at the hotel. Front Desk Staff seemed so/so. Prior to this trip I had enrolled in Choice Rewards and had a question about the instant rewards you get after checking in (in my case, the $5 Starbucks card). No one knew what I was talking about. How is it that I, as a new Choice customer, know more about this than an employee? For me, I will be looking at other options if/when I am back this way.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The kitchen and full size fridge in the room is a plus. The staff and manager were very nice and welcoming. Complimentary breakfast has a good variety and loved the fact that they served coffee all day. I recommend this airport hotel.
My husband and I stayed here for our first time recently. Our usual favorite hotels were completely booked, so we decided to give this one a try. We were so glad we did! Although the hotel was full, we felt like we were the only ones there! The hotel was extremely quiet...we could have heard a pin drop in the halls in the evenings! The rooms were beautiful, spotless, and we loved the kitchenette. The free breakfast was delicious with a variety of choices and changed every day. The WiFi was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The pillows certainly are small, but by the second night we got used to them. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the price for all of this was very reasonable! This is by far our new favorite place to say in Winnipeg, and we will definitely return!
Came in from ontario for weekend with friends for birthday. 3 couples. we all had great rooms and stay, thanks to Manager Jason who made us all feel at home and welcome. Nice little complimentary breakfast too boot, coffee and tea always on in lobby.
When travelling alone to any city...Winnipeg in this case, I always try to pick secure and safe accommodations. It was my first time staying with MainStay Suites and my experience for the two nights was perfect. A pleasant, fast check-in. Great room. Parking, internet & breakfast complimentary. Clean and quiet. Comfortable bed. And even though some folks don't care for the small pillows, I loved them!
i stay here only one night for business this hotel is a all suite hotel - 4 floors total room #323 has fridge, microwave, dish washer, sink and stove top in the kitchenette area by room entrance also sofa bed and flat screen tv in sitting/living room space king size bed is comfortable with nice bed sheets but pillow is too soft for me - room 323 has a windows facing to a warehouse loading bay area which is very quiet after 4 pm bathroom shower is not powerful so that the water is very slow breakfast has everything you need very well maintained and nice hotel plus friendly front desk staffs i'll stay here again and highly recommend to families or who needs to stay longer
This hotel is located near the airport, shopping, and restaurants. Suites have a kitchenette with sink, dishwasher, microwave, dishes, and apartment sized fridge. This is very handy if you need to store groceries overnight. There is a sitting area with couch, flat screen TV, and good sized desk. The bed was very comfortable. Desk staff were friendly and helpful. Mainstay Suites offers a good continental breakfast too. Just what you need to start the day. We would stay here again and will look for other locations as we travel.
my main complain is about the bad service from the male at the front desk and cleaner at night. I normally bring my computer to do some work while I am on vacation. Considering that I always travel with my wife and my little toddler. We added my mother in law in the room = working in the room is a nightmare. I went to the eating area, no one there. they literally kicked me out form the room and asked all the questions: what am I doing there? room number, last name. the guy at the front desk said, hey my guy needs this room for breakfast and I need you out of here (comment made at 3 am in the morning). There wasn't any please, or thank you for the request. the cleaner even told me come back to your room and do your stuff there. He came after 2 hrs of seeing me in the lobby area that I can go back inside if I want. long story short, I didn't come back to the room and stay in the leaving room. I just think if I am paying to use the facilities and I am using a common space to do work related stuff. I should be allowed to do it. If they dont want people to use the rooms = why they leave it opened and without any sign or something. not sure if the guy is the manager or something but he lacks customer service. I am indirectly paying for his salary.
