Excellent hotel Pirates cove play land is excellent Pool is convenient Close location to polo park shopping Keg steakhouse is across the street Good parking Felt welcomed as soon as we entered the building Will stay again
Good location. Free good quality WiFi. Free parking. Good steakhouse KEG in 100 meters. There is no safe box in the room. Breakfast: costs 10.95 CAD per person. At check in you get the coupons at the registration for each day of your stay. The coupon covers 10 CAD. 2 person breakfast is 21.90 CAD So you should pay extra 1.90 CAD. Cofee or any other drinks are not included!!! So if you order cofee for breakfast and orange juce (very strange for breakfast -ah?) You pay extra of 18 CAD (2×6CAD for juce 2×3CAD for cofee) Outrageous for me!
The recent reviews are focused on the renovations, as they should be! The renovations are thoughtfully done. The attention to small details have not gone un-noticed. Bravo! This hotel has been our go-to for many years and the location serves our purpose well. Everything is 'as it should be' with a hotel. Staff, amenities and the lounge, all good. Coming from the tourism industry, I know a good thing when I experience it. This Holiday Inn is worth a stay.
Stayed at the hotel August 1-2 2017. Wow the hotel has been renovated the lobby, restaurant on the main floor. It is bright, spacious, and airy! What a great job. The hotel also boasts workout room, pool, and rooms that have also been renovated. the staff is helpful, courteous, and very accommodating. the restaurant has a new great menu. KIDS still eat free. there is a shuttle the Polo park Mall, and the Airport. Hope you all enjoy your stay have fun and enjoy!
This is the second year my husband and I have stayed at this holiday inn for 21 nights stay. We loved it the first time and was not disappointed the second time. We requested a balcony room on the west side and the staff obliged us with this,The room was very clean and comfortable. We sometimes went for breakfast which was very good. Our family who live in Winnipeg joined us twice for an evening meal. We were greeted by Mark who came over and welcomed us back as he remembered us from the previous year. The meal was excellent and my daughter says the fish and chips are the best since she left England many years ago. The staff were very friendly and polite and would highly recommend this holiday Inn. We will certainly stay here when we visit Winnipeg
Recently been renovated. Hotel is nice and clean and bright. Rooms are good and new...everything is fresh. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's just a little too far out of the city unless you have a car. And there isn't much locally
My wife and I stayed at this hotel in late July. We stayed for 7 nights. One afternoon my wife and I were in the room watching television and talking, when we thought we heard a voice from down the hallway toward the front room door. When I got up to look, there was a hotel maid standing in the doorway with her head in and saying hello. We found this odd as we just moved into the new room the morning before and placed a Do Not Disturb sign on our door as we were watching television and chatting. When I approached the maid and asked why is she standing in the room with the door open, she said she knocked. I told her I don't care, thats not what I'm asking. Why are you in here? She said to see if we needed any house keeping and to give you a letter. I told her there is a Do Not Disturb sign on the door, why on earth would you enter, just to give me a letter? You can slip it under the door. My wife called the front desk who claimed they just wanted to see if we required anything. However, on the letter, it said they reserve the right to enter the premises to ensure the safety of the resident after a 24hr period of no housekeeping. Why they simply, did not call the room first is beyond my wife and I. I found this breach of privacy very personal and intrusive. We will NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. We also were uneasy due to a couple of the patrons there whom were spotted twice, by my wife and I behind a garbage dumpster doing drugs. Don't stay here, go elsewhere.
Stayed for the weekend, had a very clean and nice room but very thin walls, management dealt with the noise pretty well.. walls creaked as well almost like a older building.. still have another night too stay.. could change opinion but not sure
Our family stayed overnight on Canada Day so we could partake in the Assiniboine Park festivities. We were able to conveniently catch a bus just outside the hotel to get to and from the park. We requested an east facing suite so we could watch the fireworks and was accommodated by the hotel. Because of Canada 150, there were lots of fireworks to watch all across the City including at the Park and Forks. The pool and kids play area was enjoyed but the pool itself is small. There are rules posted and young staff overseeing the pool area but let's just say they don't really enforce anything although they should. The room was very comfortable and large with a kitchen area. We ordered room service and the food was reasonable but it did take some time to receive the order We had breakfast at the restaurant in the morning. The food was reasonable and kids eat free, but you must request vouchers at the front desk to receive the benefit. We did not know this but friends we know staying there at the same time had warned us and the wait staff also was kind to let us know before bringing the bill. The overall hotel is undergoing renovations and does look and feel more modern and new. Overall a good hotel and we would consider returning next year to do the same thing on Canada Day.
I will stay here again as the rooms were super clean and modern, their staff were exceptional, and the room cost was much lower than what you'd expect to pay for this type of accommodation. It's location is close enough to everything that a vehicle wouldn't be required and were you to want to travel from here as your base There's ample Bus and Taxi service to get you anywhere within the city. Another reason I appreciate this location.... I left a valuable, untraceable item in my room when I left. After eliminating all potential sites of loss I figured I'd try the hotel in the off chance I left it there. Low and behold after three weeks of searching, I called them. They'd retained it and provided it for me upon my next visit to Winnipeg. Upstanding folks I dare say. Thank you, T.
