The Fort Garry Hotel

After spending a night in a hotel that really affected our allergies, we moved to this beautiful, classic, and very upscale hotel. It was worth staying there. There were robes for people to wear in the closet, you could order coffee from room service and it was delivered at your door. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was a hot tub as well. Furthermore, it was walking distance to the Winnipeg Art Gallery, where we saw the Picasso exhibit, and to the Human Rights Museum, which is outstanding!

Grandeur of a bygone era. Very nice! Lovely interior. Very comfortable room and bed. Nice breakfast in the morning. Don't miss the spa! Convenient location as well.

Orbitz did not provide information in terms of room size, especially desk size for your computer, which was barely adequate. We did, however request an upgrade, and thankfully we're able get another room to our satisfaction the next day.

Great to stay at a hotel with this history and elegance. Breakfast buffet and service was awesome.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel and so did my family. It's a great hotel for the price and the service was excellent . It is close to The Forks so we spent a lot of time there. Parking is extra though so be aware of that.

The Fort Garry hotel was fabulous. Very clean, very friendly. We really liked that they include Gym passes to a connected condo building- the gym was huge and included a small pool, track, and plenty of machines.

Some stayed with family, the rest of us stayed at the Fort Gary. It was convenient, lovely in the old traditional way and Sunday Brunch was a highlight of the week. Thanks to the friendly, helpful, efficient staff.

This hotel is so charming, we really enjoyed our entire experience staying here.

Great hotel! Great location! Very easy walking distance to the forks. Fantastic tea service.

I've stayed at the Hotel Fort Garry each time I visit Winnipeg and I've never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and professional. The lounge/bar is classy yet comfortable and the rooms are always perfect.

They provide a "free" breakfast far better than any other hotel. Quiet room, very comfortable bed, and clean.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Fort Garry. Cute little room with everything we needed. We loved being in an historic Hotel. It was everything we hoped for and more.

Very good hotel , clean room , nice staff and good service

Beautiful classy old hotel that has been updated and I would highly recommend to anyone. Superior service and staff, nicely decorated room with wonderful amenities. Gorgeous lobby and bar restaurant. I can't wait for the opportunity to stay there again next time to Winnipeg.

A very nice classic hotel with friendly staff. Modern it's not but clean and comfortable it is - a great value - nostalgia satisfying.

Great location for downtown. Very good value $10 breakfast. Older hotel but very well maintained. Staff great.

Can't beat this hotel's convenience if you're arriving or departing Winnipeg on the Canadian. Staff were proactive about getting our bags up the entry stairs--especially good since one of us walks with a cane and can't manage suitcases on stairs. Fabulous breakfast (for substantial savings, pay for this when you check in, if it's not already included in your room rate). Very comfortable bed. Older property but in very good repair.

walking distance to train station and the forks. Personnel at hotel friendly and helpful Pricey but worth it. Long term parking very expensive - found another venue.

I've always liked the Fort Garry -- it's a great old hotel that's been kept up to date and is in an ideal location. HOWEVER, this last visit left something to be desired. We had a tiny room at the end of the hall that had he feel of being just converted from a closet. Worst thing was the TV--an old unit on a stand that definitely had been wheeled into the room just to say there was a TV. Non HD, Non Digiital and it got about eight channels, none that could be watched because of the horrible poor reception.
