The Good The hotel was good as far as cleanliness of rooms and the direct outside access was handy as we had one of our dogs with us and also did some shopping. Having the outside access meant that Sadie could get outside very easily and we were able to back the truck right up to our room to make unloading the girls' school supplies and school clothes a very easy task. The rooms were clean and had adequate storage so that we could temporarily store our bags and our shopping items out of the way. Bathroom supplies (towels) were plentiful which was a bonus as there were 4 of us. The Bad We booked through Priceline.com and ended up having to pay extra charges both through Priceline and at the hotel. We were told that the price included pet fees, but when we arrived at the hotel we had to pay (again?) for pet fees. Also, there were extra charges that were not disclosed even after asking if there were any other charges that we would have to pay. The Priceline rep was not honest about these charges when asked prior to booking with them. Also, the prices listed were supposed to be in Canadian funds, but Priceline charged us in US dollars so that drove the price up as well. Overall we paid double the listed price because of Priceline's dishonesty so the whole Comfort Inn experience was a bit tainted for us. We may stay at a Comfort Inn again, but we will never use Priceline again.
Katie, my labradoodle, and I were both delighted with our stay. Although the property is conveniently located near the highway, the room backed onto a quiet garden/park area. Katie enjoyed the little garden and treed area and I enjoyed the quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed was great and the staff were most pleasant.
I stayed 4 nights at the Fairmont Winnipeg and one at the Comfort inn...and had a better sleep at the Comfort Inn! Comfortable renovated room, simple but sufficient breakfast and great location surround by restaurants and shopping. Can't go wrong if looking for an affordable comfortable option in Winnipeg.
The staff were friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. We would love to visit again. We stayed for three nights and all of them were very pleasant. Winnipeg is a wonderful city to visit with lots to see and do. The outlet mall needs more stores but since it just opened I am sure it will have more to offer in the near future. The breakfast was excellent and had quite a variety of food. There was construction on the street though and did hamper our comings and goings. There was also numerous choices of restaurants in the area offering a wide range of food options. It was by far the best hotel we stayed at.
Room was reasonably comfortable and staff were friendly and accommodating. Room did have a bit of a musty smell but not too serious. The TV lost signal periodically which was frustrating. Value was reasonable.
We were having a long day driving and debated going to next city . We saw the comfort inn and decided to go and ask if they had a room . The Canada games were on and rooms were scarce but luckily they had a room . Place is very clean staff are pleasant and the rooms were good. There is no elevator to second floor and we were travelling with a 86 year old gentleman and couldnt be on second floor .they did some switching around and got us a main floor room . The breakfast was also delucious and hot. Rooms were quiet price was reasonable
Another sleepover to Comfort Inn . As expected cozy and had goodnight sleep. Good supply for washroom and tea/coffee for late snack. Good aircondition unit. It seems I am attached to his Inn already. Clean makes your fell relax after tiring trip.
The hotel is very well located off of the Trans Canada Highway. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice as well! The staff were wonderful! We felt very comfortable there. The place was quiet and we slept well!
We stopped over on our way to Thunder Bay. We've stayed here before and found the place to be pretty good, if a bit overpriced for what you get. That said, the location is very good although you'll have to order in or drive to get lunch or dinner. It's clean and the staff is friendly. Bonus feature - excellent shower head!
Very nice hotel, near bus line, near highway. Few eateries nearby but 'The Forks' just a few minutes away. Front desk did not have bus routes available [that would have been helpful], but not everyone needs them. Road under construction when we were there resulted in confusion as to entrance. Very pleasant front desk staff.
