I did try to call the reception many times coz im wondering where can i ask for disposable utensils. He kept on transfering us to Denny's. Answering of phone is not that active. Floor in the whole hotel was disgusting. They don't have hair conditioner. Air condition is super loud. And the most important was i felt itchy everytime im lying on the bed and coach. Terrible!

The room is big and clean. Staff is helpful and friendly. It's nearby the airport so can hear some noises, otherwise all is good.

We were only staying one night on our way out West, so we didn't spend much time at the hotel itself. We were pleased with the staff-the power was out when we arrived, and the staff were courteous and friendly and took care of our luggage while we went to watch a movie. The restaurant, Chop, was incredible. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked very nice. The room was nice and clean. I felt the room was a little small-it felt a little cramped. The bed was very comfortable. Overall, it was a nice atmosphere and comfortable stay.

It wasn't too far from some restaurants like Barley Brothers which had 150 beers on tap, and the shopping center. The bus to downtown picks you up literally right outside the front door. But the front desk didn't tell us the bus only takes change. It's a 20ish minute ride to downtown and then a 15 min walk (or you can get on another bus) to the forks inn. We liked to walk so this was great. Downtown is small enough to explore by foot, so if you don't mind the bus you definitely don't NEED to rent a car ever. Since they're attached to Denny's they don't offer breakfast. But the Chophouse is open late and has some great food.

This hotel failed to meet my expectations on three separate issues. Admittedly, this hotel has many of the trappings of a higher-star hotel. After I checked in, I went straight to me room and tried to turn on the AC. Nothing. The AC in the room was a wall-mounted unit controlled by a thermostat on the other side of the room. I had to unplug the AC from where it had been and plug it into an outlet on a different wall. I turned on some lights and the TV. A few minutes later the breaker blew. I called the front desk. They sent up a very nice technician for whom English was at least his second language. He quickly found and turned back on the breaker he described as slippery. Less than ten minutes later the breaker blew again. This time I addressed the issue at the front desk in person. For my trouble, I was given a complimentary upgrade to a suite. In the suite, I discovered that unless you cranked the faucet's temperature selection all the way to hot, the faucet's handle would leak horribly. In the morning, after I'd had my shower, I found a ground beetle crawling around on the sheets. I brought the beetle to the attention of the manager. For my trouble I was given a $10 (CAD) gift card for Denny's.

this was a great hotel for us. We will stay here again when we are in Winnipeg.

Good, clean, inexpensive, and very friendly accommodating staff service.

good proximity to stores such as Walmart, Polo Park Retail area, Assiniboine Park. Staff is helpful but could be friendlier. There's plenty of free, safe parking and two restaurants attached: Denny's and Chop. Clean and comfortable.

We were not expecting a great price because of last minute booking so we understand that pricing levels go up when there are few rooms available. We paid a high price but at least the Hotel measured up and we had a comfortable stay close to the airport that enabled us to return a rental car the night before we left, thus saving us $90 that would not have been possible without that location. I think that we got the last room in the city on July 20th[...]. By the way... they have a shuttle but a city bus runs by to downtown and back to the airport right in front of the hotel.

The Sandman is in a convenient location about half mile from the Winnipeg Airport in a good location for a $8.00 cab ride. It's my first choice of hotels in the vicinity of the Winnipeg Airport. Breakfast at Denny's, dinner at The Chop and all within the same building as Sandman Hotel...try to beat that!
