Our room was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had drinks in the downstairs club and a delicious dinner in the restaurant. It was very cozy and romantic and just what we needed...some quiet and privacy! We will definitely stay here again.

Traveling for business may rack up points but after awhile all hotel rooms look alike. Where can frequent travelers relax for a weekend? Our favorite getaways are boutique hotels. Imagine our surprise finding a boutique hotel in the Marriott chain?! Relaxation and points! The Ambassador is a match made in heaven. This refurbished bank building is on the National Registry of Historic Places but there’s nothing stodgy about this hotel. The rooms are quiet, spacious, and well furnished (HGTV worthy). The service is impeccable. The Elite-holder ‘continental breakfast’ in the Sienna restaurant was generous (pick 3) and included protein options (a welcome surprise). Parking in the heart of any downtown can be a nightmare, but not here. The neighboring parking garage was affordable ($12/day for Self-Park) with convenient in-out with a card provided at check-in and direct billed to the room. That said, there’s plenty to do without a car; both the basketball arena and Century II (including the Wichita Symphony) are within walking distance. All told, a relaxing stay. We highly recommend this unique hotel and will be back next time we are in a Wichita!

The Ambassador hotel is beautiful with large spacious comfortable rooms and a prime location for walking to and from the INTRUST Bank Arena. However I was disappointed in the hotel’s customer service and lack of charm in its employees. I booked 2 rooms 4 months in advance. I checked into the hotel at noon and was not accommodated with adjoining rooms or side by side rooms on 14 floors with 105 rooms. The impassive hotel clerk offered only rooms on the same floor which happened to be at opposite ends. Even though there were 2 guests booked into each room only 1 bathrobe was offered per room and 2 plush towels with additional requested towels being of a poor thin smaller quality. We took advantage of the speakeasy bar Dockum downstairs and the Siena Tuscan Steakhouse for breakfast. Throughout the hotel the service was impersonal and blasé. We couldn’t decide if it was the midwestern attitude or the lack of customer service training at the hotel. The Ambassador hotel has potential to shine with a little injected enthusiasm, adequate supply of plush towels and bathrobes per guest, and most importantly higher customer service priorities.

The Ambassador is a lovely hotel. The rooms are a relaxing oasis and a step above most cookie cutter hotels. Exactly what I have come to expect from the Autograph Collection hotels. The color pallet of the rooms is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would do differently for my next stay is request NOT to have a room facing Douglas Street as the street noise was problematic on a Saturday night when I had a 0330 wake up call the next morning. This is no fault of the hotel however, just noted so others are aware and don’t rate the hotel poorly because of its location on a busy intersection.

Service is fabulous. Rooms are spacious as well. By far in my opinion the best hotel in Wichita. Loved the bar downstairs as well. Menu was expansive and the flatbread was amazing. I stay here every trip!

We enjoyed our quick stop over in Wichita to see family. The Ambassador was conveniently located for our needs. They hotel was clean and stylishly decorated. The rooms (we had 2) were large and comfortable. Our street view of downtown was nice. The parking was somewhat difficult but that’s understandable for a downtown area. If you don’t like to park by yourself in a garage it’s best to take advantage of the valet. The hotel restaurant was completely booked so we drove to another Marriott hotel for a nice steak dinner.

This is a beautiful hotel - that can’t be disputed. The rooms are spacious and very quiet. The service on the other hand is about the quality of a Motel 6. My wife and I had a very busy week with kids and our business and we both decided it would be great to getaway for the night. She suggested this hotel and that we just eat on property so we wouldn’t have to leave. I booked the hotel and called right away to book our dinner reservation for 6:00 P.M. the next night. 6:00 wasn’t available so 6:45 was just fine. Ok - day of arrival. There were others checking in but it was not overwhelming. Connor must have another job besides at the Ambassador. He sure was good at “herding cattle”. He was in hurry and couldn’t move you fast enough. No big deal, I guess. 6:40 rolled around and we went to Sienna. Checked in and “Dick” behind the computer informed me we were 45 minutes late and couldn’t be seated. I told “Dick” about asking for 6 and was told that wouldn’t work and settled for 6:45. He said he’d look for a table. Took “Dick” ten minutes to take his iPad and go talk to some lady. He care back and said there was nothing he could do. We had to leave the hotel and found a much better place to dine. I just went to the front desk and told them that we’d never be back - this is our third stay. No one cared. I wasn’t expecting anything but an apology. All I heard was “we will pass this along to our service team.”

I stayed at the Ambassador while on a recent business trip to Wichita. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The room was stunning with great views of downtown. The Siena restaurant was also exceptional. The speak easy in the basement is unique and a lot of fun as well. Looking forward to my next stay.

This hotel is a beautifully restored gem. It’s unique and it’s absolutely lovely. The rooms give you a lovely vista of Wichita and you can see the clouds rolling in from the west. It also has a quite stunning restaurant, with an exceptional menu. I would definitely stay here again.

Spent two nights at the hotel during the synchronized skating competition. Beautiful property the rooms and bathroom are spacious and nicely appointed. Work out room is small but has lots of equipment especially free weights and bands Shuttle service was excellent so I did not need to rent a car. You do need to reserve in advance. But it is a great service
