I recently had my first experience with this hotel and it was amazing. Everything from the great front desk/check in to the room/shower to the bar to the morning breakfast was great. You can tell that this hotel truly strives to make the customer experience great. This will now be my "go to" hotel every time I travel to Wichita for work... and it should be yours also.
Very pleased with my entire experience at the Ambassador...and for the price, I don't think you can beat the quality anywhere. Essentially, one is getting Carlyle service at a Holiday Inn price -- insane. Bellman and valet upon arrival -- check. Bags brought to room while walking the dog, check. Easy to get to from Interstate -- Check. Great decor in Lobby, public spaces and room -- Check. Attentive and POLITE, capable staff -- Check. My room. I was blown away. Apparently real estate is not expensive in Wichita -- this would have been a suite anywhere else -- the bathroom is huge (the size of some people's dining room), with a seating area, a full sofa and coffee table, desk/writing area and natural light and views of downtown. Beautiful. Workout room -- small, but capable -- check FOOD. Room service was Excellent and FAST. I had filet mignon, a mixed herb, organic green salad and an old vine Zin. Tasty and what I needed after a long drive -- Check, Check! Two checks as the manager got on the phone to recommend the perfect wine. WIFI. Free with my Marriott rewards account. Highspeed, I watched YouTube for 20 minutes and caught up on email prior to dinner. Check Off Street Parking -- I valeted, and they have their own garage, so I know my car is safe -- CHECK Will I come back -- yes, and I already have. This is my second visit in less than 2 weeks and it is better than the first time and in stark contrast to other hotels I have stayed in the interim.
As a flight attendant this is one of the best domestic rooms I've occupied. Newly remodeled and beautifully appointed. The closet is larger than most hotel bathrooms. No one needs to see all your luggage! The bathroom is gleaming and has all the amenities, super clean just like I like it!!! Very comfortable bed with nice cotton sheets and a selection of pillows. Well stocked mini and snack bar. No need to leave my room !
this was my foray into the upbeat hotel scene and I was little excited about it. I was looking for some place close to the Intuit Bank Arena and this is it Just about 5 blocks and you're there. So, I wasn't sure on what street to turn into to get to the front lobby, as the hotel is not small by any means, but the approach is little scary if you're like me in that it might take two try's to pull up to the front. There isn't any room to park on the street next to it, leaving the three spaces they have set aside to load and unload, a very kind of cumbersome experience, especially when there are already 4 cars ahead of you. So, you walk in the front and go through two doors and about twenty steps you are at the guest check in. Two very polite lady's are more than willing to take your check in and short of them helping others as they come and go, it was still a short check in. Usually that's not a big thing with me, but I was sore and tired and just needed to get to my room. I had read the about the parking on the web page and knew right off that I would be charged to park in the three or four level building adjacent to the hotel, but what else can you do. I was given a gold key card and told you need to use that to get into the parking garage and then use it again to get out and before you do, you need to use a pay station located near the entrance to the garage to pay before you exit the garage. I was told that I didn't have to return the card if I was so inclined. So, back outside and into car to head to the parking garage. I parked and grabbed my stuff and headed back into the hotel. I had no big expectations as what I might see in my assigned room, but was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door. Huge king size bed took up about a third of the room. I looked around for the closer to hang my shirts and stuff, and finally opened a door and there it was. A very deep walk in closet, with a safe and a white rob waiting for me. I hung my stuff and walked around looking for the shower and or bath. I was blown away by the size of the room. There was a seating type bench off to the right of the counter top where the sink and faucet are, with the usual amenities, hair dryer, soaps and such. Off to the left, was the glassed doored shower. It has one that the door pulls out and it never seems to close for me. Always letting the water run out on the floor, kind of thing. I walked back into the bedroom and pulled out my laptop, and placed it on the rather small desk covered with the pamphlets and papers introducing you to the Ambassador Hotel. I had little extra time for me to do any stuff but get ready for my experience at the Intuit Bank Arena. So I jumped in the shower and was very surprised at the quick hot water. I have been afraid of the slippery shower floors, when they don't have anything on the floor to prevent that. So that being what it was, I got dressed and headed out. The room only has a k cup coffee maker, no microwave or refrigerator. The tv was nice sized. 42 inch I believe The bed was soft, too soft for me. The room was very clean except for some brown spots on the carpeted floor. The young people that were at the front desk and the two or so at the front entrance were all nice and willing to help.
I recently spent three nights at the Ambassador Hotel. It was a very pleasant experience. I had a corner room which was quite large, recently remodeled and very clean. I ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and both were excellent meals. The dinner was exceptional and the service was top notch. I highly recommend a visit to the restaurant. I also visited the Apothecary in the basement. A nice fresh take on mixed drinks. Enjoyed the service here as well. If you're looking for a place to stay in Wichita you can't go wrong at the Ambassador Hotel.
I just arrived and Kathy at the front desk is AMAZING! She is absolutely thorough in her instructions as well as kind! I know I have 3 days left but if this is the beginning I can only imagine how wonderful my stay will be. Thanks Kathy! Sandi
Very nice place to stay by Marriott! In the heart of the business district, old preserved building. Large rooms, excellent decor, grey hues and modern comfortable! Excellent customer service, nice restaurant on site/Siena, great breakfast!!!
We wanted to try the Ambassador so booked a 3 night stay there. I am Platinum for Life with Marriott so they usually take care of me. Nice hotel but... I was put on the 3rd floor and all was fine until time for bed. Between the railroad train that ran several blocks away blowing its horn every time, and the street below that had loud cars running up and down all night long, I got about 4 hours sleep... which does not work for me. We moved to a full Marriott the second night and had much better stay. Sorry but this location needs better soundproofing to get me to stay there again. Oh and the $18 a night for parking hurt...
We stayed here overnight for our staycation and everything went together perfectly. The staff was nice, rooms were spotless, great location, and the hotel has everything you need so that you don't even have to leave the building. The speakeasy in the basement is amazing and the steak house was awesome. We will be back.
Great stay minus valet service being slightly lacking. Covered parking close by for six dollars cheaper per day. Next time I will do that. Otherwise, amazing hotel with great service, dining on site and a speakeasy downstairs with worth their money cocktails. Follow the pharmacy signs to getaway to a very cool vibe beneath the hotel for a pre-dinner cocktail. You will feel like you're not in Kansas anymore. Beautiful room with stand up separate shower, water closet and nice vanity. It's literally the size of an apartment in here. Nice view of the city and you're in walking distance to old towne and sports venue.
