Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel
2/5 Poor
"We arrived at the hotel around 9:00 AM and requested an early check‑in. Despite this, we received no communication or updates from the hotel, and the standard 4:00 PM check‑in time passed without any notice. When I followed up at the front desk, I was told the room was still being cleaned.
By 5:00 PM—eight hours after our arrival—we still had no information. The second front desk agent I spoke with was unable to provide any meaningful assistance. This left us no choice but to escalate the matter to the manager. Unfortunately, the manager’s response was unacceptable, unprofessional, and dismissive. He stated that the room was not ready, refused to provide even an estimated availability time, and claimed there was no way to check with the cleaning staff—an explanation that is unreasonable and concerning for a hotel of this standard.
We were finally able to check in at 8:00 PM, which is four hours past the regular check‑in time. The complete lack of communication, transparency, and basic customer service caused significant inconvenience and reflects poorly on the hotel’s operational standards.
The only positive aspect of this experience was Alex, who was the only staff member who provided genuine assistance and helped resolve the situation after hours of unnecessary delays.
