Beautiful property

Food was great

Liked the drinking water in the bathroom, restaurant and gift shop and the pump toiletries and warming towel rack and hot tub

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay at Kilauea Lodge. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and uniquely Hawaiian. The grounds around the building were nicely landscaped and lovely. We could hear birds and other wildlife during the evening with the windows open and a cool breeze blowing in. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant. It is very close to Volcano’s National Park so a wonderful place to stay if you want to spend a day or more exploring the area.

This is a hidden gem. The staff are excellent, the restaurant was superb and the grounds are pretty and tropical. Excellent location if you are spending time at Volcano National Park.

Friendly, clean, decorated, great food, beautiful grounds

Great location and friendly staff. Will come back.

Our stay at Kilauea Lodge in the Liko room was overall OK. I would not recommend this place for an extended stay or if you're planning on staying in the room a lot and relaxing. There is no AC, only a ceiling fan to cool the room so during the day it gets very very hot. On the flip side, at night it gets very cold so beware if you leave the windows open. Location wise, it is very close to Volcanoes National Park which is a major selling point of this place. The included breakfast was good however they ask you to leave tip as if you were dining in a restaurant, adding to the expensive cost of the room (~$200 per night in November). Also, don't get the french toast, it was very bland. Overall, book here if location is important to you. What you get for the price of the room is just not there for me. Service was ok. With the exception of one of the servers, I felt like I was bothering them to ask for a bucket of ice. I believe the daily 'required' breakfast tip had a factor in that.

We were put in one of the rooms adjoining the "Common Room" (our room entrance was actually *in* that room). Some guests staying in the other rooms saw fit to carry on as if the Common Room were their personal living room. Unfortunately, we could hear every word. At dinner (which was good), I was asked if everything was OK with the room: to which I had to mention the noise (after all, they did ask). To the credit of the staff, they took the initiative and managed to move us to another room (a suite, in fact) that was *much, much* nicer. We got to pay extra for that privilege: something I was more than happy to do. The following day, after we'd moved rooms, I must say that everything, at least accommodation-wise, was really excellent. The "Breakfast Included" is OK if you want omelette, otherwise you're practically out of luck. So omelette it was. Unfortunately, both our omelettes were not adequately cooked through and had raw egg white running inside of them. We waited and waited for the "is everything OK with your meal?", but it never came. So we left.

The one bedroom apartment was good, but could have used another portable mattress bed. The futon they gave (for the 4th guest) was not comfortable. Otherwise our stay was fine.

This was a local getaway for us, as we live in Kona. The property is in a rural area and reminds me of the Pacific Northwest. Our room was nice, my wife loved the gas fireplace. We had dinner, it was good and the staff was very cordial. Breakfast was included with our stay and it was very good too. In the evening there really isn't any type of activities available and we both wished we had remembered to bring a book to read. However, it was very peaceful and stress free time for us.

We really enjoyed our stay here in the rainforest near the volcano. The breakfast was awesome (watch out for hidden charges) and the room was nice. Our son slept on an inflatable bed/ cot next to our king bed that was actually really comfortable. The grounds are really beautiful. We went to the lodge for dinner - but it was just ok (really expensive for what it was) probably better for lunch.
