Aloha Crater Lodge and Lava Tube was a great find. Originally, I had booked a hotel in Hilo, but I cancelled when I found this Lodge only 2 minutes from Volcanoes National Park. The owners were friendly and accommodating. The surrounding area was secluded, quiet, and quite lovely! I highly recommend this if you're looking for something other than the hustle and bustle of the city.

I received excellent service and they went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. They even drove me to Hilo Airport when my rental car plans fell through. I plan to recommend them to anyone and everyone. 5 out of 5 STARS!!!

The room was clean and comfortable. The host was VERY kind and accommodating :)

As my husband put it, “It is what it is”. A place to stay near the volcano. It has bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. An older property, nothing fancy. It was raining lightly the entire time and the area is lush with green. The property has an entrance to the largest lava tube in the world. We didn’t do it because we had an older person with us but it sounded interesting. I have stayed in Volcano before in a similar place so I assume most of the accommodations around here are like this unless it’s one of the bigger hotels. We needed a second bedroom so we decided on this place. If I just needed a single bed, I’d look around to see what the other accommodations are like, though I suspect the choices are similar.

Beautiful surrounding in rainforest. Secluded, cozy, comfortable bed. Wonderful continential breakfast with fresh fruits, granola, yogurt, sweet bread coffee. Cold drinks in the fridge upon arrival. Pleasant host.
