We loved our stay at Hale 'Ohu, Good location, upmarket spacious rooms, healthy yummy breakfast in our room to have when we liked and the setting in the rainforest was extra special. The property has an interesting history and connection to the missionaries Sarah & David Lyman.

This room was the cutest! It was modern and had all the amenities you want. The rainforest walk was nice. The breakfast was great. We only stayed one night, but we wanted to try more breakfast items. The banana bread was amazing! Would stay here again.

This B&B is one of a kind. The owners are so very welcoming and warm as hosta. The level of service is at a very high level. The B&B is situated in a wonderful forest with lots of bords and plants. Close to Volcano Nationalpark and quite close to Hilo and Mauna Kea. A real gem that we’ll stay at again when returning to Big Island. You made our stay wonderful! Mahalo!

Quiet, relaxing location, beautiful spot in the rain forest of Volcano, we booked all three rooms for our adult family members, the delicious breakfasts on the patio with the sun coming up over the beautiful garden was memorable. Well appointed rooms, clean, newly remodeled rooms with large shower in the bath. Beautiful trail around the property. We enjoyed Hilo, visiting the farmers market, Tsunami Museum, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden and Volcano National Park. Wished we had more time to spend in this area. I would highly recommend a stay here, we all enjoyed it and look forward to returning.

Highly recommend! Stayed there for 2 nights. Beautiful location. 4 minutes from Volcano National Park. Breakfast was delicious. Facilities are very clean and bed was comfortable (on the firm side). Nice bathroom. Free parking. No complaints.

There is nothing not to like in this spotless, compact but well appointed bed and breakfast. Comfy bed with soft linens, excellent breakfast and a great shower. They had even thoughtfully provided a corkscrew, wineglasses and a cozy blanket on each lanai chair to snuggle into on a cool afternoon. The gardens were beautiful so be sure to take time to enjoy them. We will be back.

Hosts are lovely, grounds are pretty, spacious attractive bathroom and the bed is SO comfortable! Breakfast is prepared the day before and guests reheat it and eat it in their room. Not a problem at all for us. Thank you Nicole and Gabrielle!

Absolutely gorgeous location with well tended and grounds. Immaculate rooms with nice breakfast. Conveniently located next to Volcanoes National Park. This location has been a b&b for many years, now under new ownership. The new owners have maintained the charm and ambience developed by the previous owners and did a fantastic upgrade and make-over of the rooms. Each have a private porch with a lovely view of the garden. Can't recommend enough - a must stay location!

The B and B units, situated in the beautiful rainforest of Volcano, are separate from the main house. Each unit is well appointed with a fresh, clean look that is very relaxing. There is also a small patio for each unit. A small heater provides adequate heat when it is chilly outside. The owners are extremely well organized with a great deal of information about the history of the site, restaurants, services etc available in each unit. The breakfast was prepared ahead of time and available (in the fridge) whenever we wished to have it. There was an excellent description of the contents and how to heat parts of it up in the microwave. This was a very novel, but enjoyable, approach. The owners do their own baking and each breakfast was very thoughtfully constructed. The B and B is well located for restaurants, stores, and tourist sites. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone staying in Volcano.

We recently went there for 5 nights after visiting Maui. This is an excellent B&B for the region, well kept and clean, and conveniently located close to the National Volcano Park. While 5 days is an extended stay for the region (I'd recommend 2-3 for most, although we surprisingly filled up all 5 without trouble), it actually was easy to get around to most locations on the island regardless. Hilo's also less than 30 minutes away with a lot to see around and the road's easy. There's a nice winery in Volcano that I'd suggest stopping by, and there's a few cafe's as well. On the way to Hilo, about 10 minutes away, there's the coffee farm where you can get some very good coffee on the go too! Not only do they clean very well every day, but their bed sheets are awesome (probably some bamboo sheets but sooooo comfy!). The TV allows you for easy Netflix access should you want to watch it before bedtime
