Lovely couple, very interesting to talk with, very knowledgable about sightseeing on Big Island. We had room with bathroom down hall...no problem for us. Another review commented about no curtain in bathroom....don't need one...lovely view out...no one else around! Beautiful views of lawn, trees and flowers everywhere...this really is at the End of the Road! Breakfast was simple, but adequate for us....fresh papaya, tea, waffles...we were asked repeatedly if we wanted more. Conversation at check in, at breakfast, and upon leaving, with both Lani and Ray, was entertaining. Such a friendly couple. 5 minute drive from Volcano Nat. Park. Will definitely go back next time in Volcano!
Excellent place to rest amid scenic surroundings after a hectic day of driving. Great hospitality. Well maintained rooms. Great food home made. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Very peaceful stay.
A quiet place to rest after a full day's drive from Kona. Super nice hosts who welcomed us into their comfortable home, described local restaurant options, and even helped us discover a scenic road back to the airport the next day after a great morning at Volcanoes National Park. Our hostess answered our questions about the local community while feeding us a filling breakfast.
This house is located in the middle of a huge green lot surrounded by trees and blooming blue and pink hydrangeas. The accommodations were great - very clean and well decorated rooms. Lani & Ray were very organized and informative. Transactions were very transparent. The grounds are secured and one feels right at home. This is a quiet, serene, and relaxing place away from all the noise one would find in the city. The Volcanoes National Park is about 3 miles away.
We stayed two nights and wished we had stayed longer. There is so much to see and do in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Ray and Lani helped us to feel welcome and at home in their lovely property. They also gave great tips for optimal strategies for visiting the park. I am gluten free and so is Lani, so she had no problem coming up with gluten free options for breakfast. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished with a private bathroom. We will definitely return the next time we visit the Big Island
I had a fantastic two days in Volcano, to visit the National Park and see the live volcano! The icing on the cake was this gem of a guesthouse, situated really at the end of the road, only 5 or 6 minutes drive to the Volcano's National Park entrance! Ray and Lani are friendly and informative without being intrusive. The breakfast is a perfect way to start the day, fresh fruit, coffee, toast! The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, homely not impersonal like some hotel chains. I would definitely stay at this guest house again!. I'm already planning a return trip, even though it half way round the planet from my home!
I had the nicest overnight stay at this B&B and really wished I had more time to explore the volcano national park and share in this warm and friendly space. I enjoyed breakfast with other guests and hosts jovial banter. The home was clean and inviting. They recommended I go see the night glow at Jagger Museum and so glad I did as this gave me best photos. Thank you.
I had a lovely one-night stay. Ray is very friendly and talkative. I liked hearing his stories about Hawaii. He was also full of information about the area and the island. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. I liked being close to the National Park. Breakfast was fine for me.
We enjoyed our night here. Ray, the owner, is pleasant and very helpful on things to do and directions. As a native Hawaiian, he added much to our stay. Breakfast is a bit sparse, not much choice. Quiet and peaceful.
Breakfast is bread and juice. This is not really a bed and breakfast. This is priced as a bed and breakfast. Should be priced at 40 or 50/night. Very nice people. Very easy to find even at night. House is pretty inside. Bed is hard. These people have lots of travelers due to the location. They seem semi interested with the morning conversation possibly because it is a daily thing for them. Bed and breakfasts are usually pretty special. Burnt toast and coffee is not special. Parking is convenient.
