We stayed at the Alpine room as a family of 3 (couple + baby) - we had a king size bed and and a pack'n'play for the baby. The room was very spacious, the breakfast was very generous, and the place is just calm and nice. I would add that having breakfast at a set time together with the other guests added to the experience, Staying here at the night before your Volcanos NP visit is a great idea.
We loved our stay at Aloha Junction. The breakfast with all the tips that Erica gave us before we headed out for our excursion were great. There are two restaurants and a small convenience store in walking distance. It’s very close to the National Park but still in a quiet area. I would very much recommend staying there.
It was our first time to The Aloha Junction B & B which was very nice. We had the Pele room that had a queen and a king bed with two bathrooms. It was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Erica, the housekeeper and cook, made a great breakfast every morning. Coffee was waiting for us when we entered the dining area. Its a very peaceful atmosphere and very close to Volcano National Park. I would highly recommend it.
This is my second time I stayed at this bed and breakfast. Obviously I loved it so much I wanted to come back 3 years later. This time instead of just the two of us and using the Heritage room, we came back with two other adults and the 4 of us shared the garden room with two queen size beds. We love the serenity of this place with a beautiful garden, chickens , dogs and other animals. The owner greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our room. He lives next door. All the rooms were occupied when we stayed there but it was fairly quiet for how many people were in the house. We loved the common area and we sat around in the living room with other guests after breakfast. The lady who cooks breakfast was pleasant and nice. Breakfast was great with some pancakes, sausage and fruit. They have small snacks, coffee and brochures in the kitchen about the area and restaurant . It is very close to the entrance of the park. We ate at an Italian restaurant around the corner but be aware you will need reservations as there are not that many places to eat. It was a small place but very good. I highly recommend this place !
The staff is very kind and helpful. Take care of as every morning. Breakfast was good too. Just one things, volcano was so cold. We didn't bring enough winter clothing. So, next time we should bring some. We recommend this stay.
My husband and I spent 2 nights here so we could visit nearby Volcano National Park. What a wonderful place. The rooms were very cozy and homey, with a traditional Hawaiian feel to them. They were clean and the beds comfortable. We were there the end of November and they had it nicely decorated for the holidays as well. It gets a little cooler there at night and is extremely peaceful when trying to sleep. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We had lovely conversations with her about the island and life on it. Breakfast was good, and we enjoyed lively conversations each morning around the table with other travelers. if you are looking for a high end place to stay, this may not be for you. However, if you are looking for a nice, clean, place where you can experience Hawaiian Ohana, then this is where you want to go. Highly recommend and hope to return some day!
We had a wonderful stay at Aloha Junction in November this year. Our room was ready for us on our arrival.clean and comfortable. We always reserve the Garden Room. Our breakfast was wonderful. The pancakes were delicious as were the sausages. Fresh papya to start was so good. Erika was a lovely hostess and spent time just chatting with us. Would definitly recommend Aloha Junction.
Was greeted on arrival ( expected more interaction with owner), was taken through the house at rapid pace and shown doors, WiFi password (at times wifi is not working, first day we could not connect as owner didn't know changes made in name of wifi), brochures, list of restaurants in the area, location of kitchen ( micro wave, fridge..) and common areas, room amenities. Common area is very crowded and didn't appeal much. Bathroom is very tiny, your hand will definitely hit wall even you are cautious. Bed we found soft and worst in 4 hotels we stayed. The rooms are Cold when we returned each evening (end November). Luckily, the electric 'fireplace' and electric mattress warmer kept us plenty warm. Common area were cold as no heating arrangement is there. The property is within a mile of the national park entrance which is super handy. There are few good restaurant in vicinity which is plus point for volcanic village B&B hotels as a whole. Breakfast was at 8 am. Pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausages, cold toast and papaya allocated fruit. Next day other guest were to go early caretaker coming in morning adjusted and served them breakfast at 7 am. Very nice gesture. The garden is pretty, it is extensive and the approach down the camellia lined driveway would be beautiful when they are in full bloom. There are dogs, chickens, ducks etc all wandering the property. Considering present situation ( cold volcano - no lava), if you are staying in Hilo it is better to drive 45 min to reach Volcano area instead of staying in Volcano village. We stayed one night while visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park nearby. The Heritage Room has a large, comfortable bed with a small bathroom behind a pocket door. The sink is outside the bathroom, which is convenient. It was so quiet at night--nice! Breakfast is served at about 8 a.m. but you can request another time. The owners live next door but, other than greeting them when we arrived, we did not talk to them. The woman who made breakfast graciously allowed me to use the kitchen to make sandwiches and even gave me a couple of plastic baggies! We met some other guests. I really enjoyed my stay here.
Flew in for a wedding in Hilo but stayed at Aloha Junction Bed & Breakfast in Volcano. They did not disappoint. Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Beautiful home, amazing staff, quiet & very close to the National Park & golf course. We will stay here again.
