This hotel is a great place to stay for families with kids. There is so much to do here that you really won't get bored. It has a nice pool and a fantastic waterslide that we all enjoyed. The ping pong room was so much fun as well. They also have bikes & skateboards to borrow. The hotel and rooms are fun and brightly coloured. As well as the whole property was very clean. We enjoyed our stay here and can't wait to go back!
Yes! We flew in June 29th for our vacation and there was an error with our Air BnB reservation. There was a glitch in the website and the unit owners had no idea resulting in us not having our Air BnB. We were completely panicked having landed and not having a place to stay. My fiends who lived there and I tried multiple hotels and all were booked because of the Canada Day long weekend and then Pride being the following weekend. We called Hotel Zed after seeing a few rooms available but not for our full stay so we had thought we’d be staying at multiple hotels. The staff that was working at Hotel Zed that morning as well as the manager went ABOVE and BEYOND in juggling rooms and fitting us in for our full 10 day stay. Although the cost was $1400 more for the full stay it felt like a “happy mistake”! We were wowed each day by the amazing experience and shout out to Adam the shuttle driver who was just a gem! Thank you Hotel Zed for turning a really crumby situation into something that was and will always be a memorable vacation! I’ll recommend you and we’ll stay there again because it was worth every single penny. Screw Air BnB and stay here instead!
I was booked into the ZED. I went to Victoria for medical reasons. But staff is friendly, extremely friendly. I enjoyed it The location is amazing, easy access to all bus routes, restaurant beside the hotel. Swimming pool in this heat? Great to cool down in after a day of sight seeing.
One of the most unusal hotels i have been in. It looks like an old motel that has been made a bit funky. Room was large clean and retro styled. Small pool and jacuzzi where you could watch your kids in the pool and of course the water slide aka the Zedinator. The hotel also has a small sauna. Staff very friendly enough parking and also close to a bus stop if you want to travel into town. Would recommend to a friend.
I love this place and so do my kids but I'm a light sleeper and even with ear plugs, I find the traffic noise really disruptive. Noone else in the family is bothered so we've been there twice. I'm not sure I can do it again though. On the plus side, the decor and retro touches make it a really welcoming fun place. The pool, waterslide and games room were a big hit with my kids and my nieces and nephews.
We booked a suite and a cottage, had a large group and used the cottage as home base. It worked out very well. We really enjoyed our stay. Staff was amazing. Free coffee in lobby, if you want coffee in cottage bring your own and ask for coffee maker from hotel they will bring it no problem!
Good location for sightseeing lots of resturants nearby.Friendly staff very clean room on the small side for a double.Breakfast extra but at a reduced cost if pre booked well worth£7.50.Free cheese and wine in the evening 5pm-8pm.We will certainly stay again.
Neat idea - renovating an old motel into a funky hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff, close to convenience stores, restaurants, shopping, and bus stops. The decor is just too much. Definite plus was the fact that the room had AC, although that wasn't listed as an amenity.
Just finshed a two night stay at this funky retro motel in downtown Victoria. We usually stay at plush hotels, so this was completely different for us. Out of the 5 hotel/motels we stayed at during our Canadin journey this one was the only one that upgraded our room, had ping pong ( tables need some work), and air conditioning. In room unique amenities were a comic book, yo-yo, ear plugs( a must for downtown sirens heard all night long), and silly stickers. Location was across the street from a small mall, and very close parks to visit (Swan Lake). We did not use the complimentary bikes ( traffic looked to busy), and we were very disappointed the VW bus shuttle was unavailable (lacked a driver). Pleased with the dishes/cups and liquid soap available for our use. We would of loved to have coffee available for our 2:30 am check out (as advertised), but that was not available. Motel worthy of a retro experience.
You get happy seeing all the colors! Little on the north-side but still really convenient location. Great new big Mall just across the street. Super-friendly and helpful staff. Overall an excellent stay. Nice dining at the close-by LOT1 Pasta Bar
