We arrived about 12:45 pm on Saturday,June 17th.We checked in before heading to eat and the Texas Zoo.The room was for the disabled(#317) and had grab bars in the bathroom. The bath was fine, but there was no counter space to put anything on.Just a white sink against the wall.Bath was still adequate. The kitchen had a full size refrigerator, two burner cooktop, microwave and dishwasher. The room also had kitchen supplies ,silverware and some cleaning supplies. The closet had an ironing board and iron. The bed was a King and comfortable with adequate pillows. The TV was mounted in a corner, which seemed odd,but it worked. The air conditioner had a wall control with few options.I prefer a setting where the fan always runs,as I use a fan at home when I sleep. This unit had no such option. The hotel was relatively quiet. The breakfast was non-existent when we went downstairs at 8:30 with our grandson. Also, the entrance has no cover/roof where you can pull in and unload,so if it's raining, your things are wet. The staff was nice and helpful. It is located very close to the Mall, other shopping and many restaurants. The cost was $77 plus tax, which made for a total of just over $87. All in all,it was a decent value for the money. They had a pool and a gym with a variety of equipment. There was a small store off of the lobby with snacks and other goods.I would recommend this hotel, which is located right behind the Olive Garden Restaurant, and accessible from N Navarro St or the freeway next to the restaurant.

Rooms is like home away from home. The room, people working there, very clean and friendly. I really didn't want to leave. It was awesome there. I will be telling my friend about this hotel. Loved it loved it. Should get more than five star. My husband was in the hospital in icu. And this stay here made it so much easier for me money wise and environment wise. Nice place to be able to come to and relax after spending the day at hospital.

3 couples from UK travelling across texas. Stayed here one night. Lovely clean hotel and rooms. The rooms have everything in them fridge freezer and a dish washer pots pans cutlery microwave and more. Breakfast was just ok with cereal yogurts milk etc but all had to be purchased by the use of an honesty box. You could order a sausage egg muffin from reception which was in a plastic bag and was microwaved which produced a soggy mess in a bag. Another down side was only one table and two chairs in the breakfast room which meant breakfast was usually eaten in the bedroom. Just across the car park was an olive garden restaraunt yes I know it's a chain but still good food and ice cold beer. Across the highway was a large shopping mall our wives loved it my credit card did not In general one of the better chain hotels we stayed in

The hotel was about 5 miles of US 59, very easy to find. Check-in was fast and the front staff was very helpful. The room was extremely clean and the A/C worked perfectly. All the in room appliances appeared to be new. The bed was comfortable.

We were in town for a reunion and the Candlewood was a great place to come back to and get a good night's sleep. The Air condition worked well and the room was quiet and dark which meant a restful night after a VERY long and eventful day and night. The pillows were comfy and the recliner was a nice touch. Staff was friendly at check-in and check-out. They even offered a grab n go breakfast, which isn't normally typical of a Candlewood. We will be back when we visit family and friends in the area!

We booked our stay with a 3rd party. The staff was friendly. We unfortunately were put in a queen bed handicap room. We are a family of 4. When asked if we could be placed in a room to fit our needs the front desk attendant politely said he could upgrade is for $39 more. The price was cheap, I guess you get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

The hotel has nice rooms which are actually little suites. Nice and clean and the beds were comfortable as well. They advertise breakfast but it's actually just a heated up sausage biscuit. Better than nothing but not what we thought it was going to be. They have a little store there where you can buy milk, yogurt, fruit, cereal, etc. Very nice people at the front desk. Before you go out anywhere to eat ask about discounts for area restaurants at the front desk.

Very worthwhile! Good kitchenette, very nosy ice maker in the fridge (just turn it off), and a DVD player to boot! we had a very nice stay! The lawn sprinkler woke us during the night other than that is good. Service was great and the loan locker is a nice touch.

We decided to get away on the July 4th, first rented a room in Port Lavaca, but once there the hotel wasn't what people had rated it for. So, we called around trying to find another hotel in area with vacancies, but had no luck! I got on the net to see what the next closest place was with nice hotels, Victoria was the closest. I called the hotel and spoke with a really professional and sweet young lady who matched the other hotel's price. We made our way there, and were really impressed where it was located (Starbucks located in parking lot), also how clean the grounds and hotel was.. Upon opening the door to our room, you could tell by smelling that it was cleaned thoroughly, and it's appearance also reflected that as well. Hubby and I got there, unpacked, got comfy, and went down and sat by the pool, and was greeted with really friendly folks.. I noticed they also had a nice place for a BBQ get together... This hotel was soooo comfy, we will be back! It was a really nice get away, and the staff was awesome!! :)

Very well kept hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Amy and Kim at the front desk were awesome and I would give them an A+ for service. Laundry room available 24/7 which was very handy. Again Amy and Kim are great employees at this hotel.
