Great Place! Great location very close to plenty of things to do in the area. The staff was very attentive and very nice to all my needs or request. My family loved we came for spring break and now they want to come back for the summer.
I booked this hotel because I thought a Hilton brand would assure proper wheelchair accessibility. It didn't go as expected!!! Firstly, I requested a wheelchair accessible room and upon arrival hotel staff only provided a more spacious room. They didn't say whether handicapped rooms were all taken or if they were non-existent. Anyways, despite staff courtesy and friendliness wheelchair accessibility is not just a matter of space. As expected, neither the toilet nor the shower were wheelchair friendly. After requesting a shower chair the hotel staff said they didn’t have any and the solution they provided was so shameful I will not go into describing it. I will only say it was neither appropriate nor safe. Moving on to the hotel itself, the access ramp is definitively unsuitable for wheelchairs, it is so steep it is impossible for a wheelchair user to make it up or down without any help. Finally, regarding the hotel’s sidewalks, they have no ramps. The pedestrian crossing is not wheelchair accessible either. Even though public areas are not the hotel’s responsibility I would assume a world-renowned brand such as Hilton would consider their hotels’ surrounding areas/facilities in order to meet its world-class standards. I will certainly not go back to this hotel despite being a Hilton Honors member.
Nice and very professional staff. Helpful on getting your needs and looking to please. The meals could be improved specially the buffet and dinners. Like more meats and less carbs. Fresh salads for us to try and keep our weight down.
I'm a Hilton diamond member, I always select Hilton cause as I've said in other reviews I don't like surprises when it comes to hotels. Well Doubletree Veracrus was a surprise in the wrong way! The shower head didn't work. water was all over the place, think a sprinkler more than a constant flow of water. I told the front desk personnel at least 3 times, the always very kindly told me that they will fix it immediately, didn't even knocked on the door. It wasn't fixed. Awful experience, will never visit this hotel again. Hilton, heads up!!!
Overall a good place to stay if youre visiting veracruz, the staff is very friendly and looking forward to satisfy all your needs as a guest, I would probably go back there for my next stay the location is great and you have a quiet beach across the street
Our arrival to this hotel was delayed. What is the first thing you do? You call the hotel right! Well that's exactly what we did and guess what... the cancelled our reservation... no bueno! After about an hour of arguing we got a room but who wants to argue when they've been in airports for two days? Anyway the hotel was very clean and secure. The room service food seemed better than the restaurant food. The cleaning staff were terrific!! Spanish speaking is almost mandatory. Our stay was nice except the arrival.
Loved the proximity to downtown Veracruz and the view of the beach was nice. Made to order breakfast items typical to Veracruz (picadas and gorditas, YUM) were icing on the cake. The green freshly squeezed juice was good. The double bed room was slightly crowded with the desk chair in close proximity to the bed, but it was ok. Liked the safety deposit box in the room.
I stayed at the Doubletree Hotel in Veracruz, Mexico on a 2-month business trip in September and October 2016. I stayed here with my husband and 2 employees, occupying 3 rooms during this time. This is a beautiful, newly-renovated hotel with all the comforts of home. When I arrived in Veracruz, knowing I would stay for so long, I looked at all the best-rated hotels close to the city center. Although Veracruz has several beautiful resort-style hotels to choose from, the Doubletree won my business because it has larger guest rooms, a better view of the ocean (which is literally across the street), and most importantly, exceptional customer service which I received from Day 1. First, let me describe the property. The lobby is elegant and well-decorated. It is spacious with high ceilings and many tables, chairs, and sofa's that are perfect for a business meeting or a visit with friends. There is a bar with a nice Happy Hour and a good light-bite menu, and a separate full-service restaurant serving a variety of regional dishes and continental cuisine. The restaurant serves an outstanding, made-from-scratch breakfast buffet with a cook-to-order window serving eggs, omelets, quesadillas, empanadas, gordas, etc. The restaurant also puts on special buffets for lunch and dinner a few times per week, which often include live music. On the upper floors, there is a beautiful large outdoor pool with many chairs and tables for relaxing or even working on a laptop, and wait-service available for refreshments. Because the pool is on the 2nd floor, the deck offers a panoramic view of the Port of Veracruz and the ocean. There is a well-equipted exercise room on the 3rd floor, with huge glass windows overlooking the pool. The hotel looks exactly as it is pictured on the Hilton website. The guest rooms are spacious, more so than the rooms I saw in the other luxury hotels in Veracruz. They are decorated with a simple, modern elegance consistent with the feel of the rest of the hotel. Many have a view of the ocean and the beach across the street; my pictures show the view from our room. The beds are comfortable with nice linens. The bathrooms and showers are very spacious, and I had no issues with hot water during my entire stay. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning and restocking the room, so it looked pristine every day. Now, saving the best for last, I must comment on the exceptional quality of all the staff at the Doubletree Hotel. Even considering all the great things I have said about the hotel, the excellent customer service was the best part. Every day, without fail, every single staff member I saw went out of their way to say hello with a smile, and to be sure that every need we had was attended to. I would like to give special mention to the Reception Staff, Andrea, Antonio, Nancy, Eduardo, and Yaneth, who helped me with every need from planning day trips, to recommending restaurants, to finding a nail salon and a laundromat. Andrea even went so far as to research and email me info on activities and reputable hotels for excursions in other parts of the state. No matter how busy the hotel was, Reception always made time to help me find my way around Veracruz. I would also like to mention the Restaurant staff, who made us feel especially welcome. Erika, the restaurant receptionist, greeted us every morning with our coffee-to-go, a big smile, and a cheerful attitude. Everyone on the restaurant wait staff (too many names to mention) provided very professional, friendly service, knew me by name and went out of their way to ask how I was doing, and even helped me practice my Spanish. Carlos even arranged a "tasting" one day when he was working in the bar, to help me learn about different types of tequila and Mezcal, in Spanish. The breakfast cooks also smiled at me each morning and made me feel welcome. Finally, I want to mention the Bellboys, Jose and Tómas, who learned our daily schedule and had our car ready everyday before we left for work, so we didn't even have to wait. In summary, we had an excellent experience at this hotel. I would definitely return and would give it the highest recommendation for vacation or business travel.
The hotel was very nice, although the rooms are a little small, and there was no place to sit other than at the desk. The banquet facilities were marvelous, and they did an excellent job. The food in the dining room was very good, but the service in the dining room was very slow. The service in the bar was excellent. It was nice to have complimentary internet access, and the speed was fine; the only issue here was that it kept disconnecting and I had to go through the log in process many times. I know that the majority of your guests are Spanish speaking, but it would be nice to have a few more TV channels in English and other languages for your international visitors. Overall it was a very nice hotel, and we enjoyed our stay. Will I be back? Yes, of course!
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. They had valet parking, held the doors for us, assisted with our luggage and assisted us with our pets. There was no fridge in our room so when we requested one the manager had one moved from her office for us to use. When we travel through next time we will definitely stay here again.
