We stayed here a few nights and had booked the Jr Suite with a view and were upgraded for free! We were thrilled! Our room and veranda were gorgeous! This hotel did not disappoint! The staff were extremely helpful with all our questions and very welcoming. They even booked our water taxi for our early morning departure. The location is perfect, right on the Grand Canal with it's own water taxi stop. Would love to visit again!
Fabulous old world building renovated with modern comfort. Located on Grand Canal. Staff friendly and helpful. We arrived about 10:am and were allowed access to our unlike most hotel that make you wait till at least 2:pm for check in. Our jr. suite was very nice. Bathroom well lit and comfortable, shower good size great water pressure. Extras were provided toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razor, comb, brush as well as the usual supplies. very clean. Upon arrival a complementary bottle of Proseco and sweets were broth to our room. VERY NICE!
For a very special weekend in Venice, I decided to book a junior suite with Grand Canal view. It was a great choice and made our weekend even more magical. We arrived by boat from the airport right at the hotel´s front door pier, impressive. Very nice contemporary design of the lobby, we´re offered a drink and refreshment at check-in. The suite was gorgeous, large and well lit, with a small balcony right above the Grand Canal. The suite also has an in-room bathtub in addition to the regular bathroom. Unfortunately, the rainy weather was not permitting to use the hotel´s garden for breakfast. The breakfast offer was great, several fresh juices and champagne. The hotel doesn´t have its own restaurant but the location in the very center (between Rialto Bridge and San Marco square) allows you to have a good (even though touristic) dinner pretty much anywhere. We liked to cross the Academy bridge to the other side of the Canal, there were fewer people and good restaurants/bistros. The disadvantages: the noise from the vaporetto public stop right in front of the hotel (can´t really have the balcony door opened during the night). And of course the price. But this is Venice.
Beautiful hotel, fab location, very helpful staff who provided a great greeting service who helped point out local features and things to do. Arrival via speed boat strongly recommended. Overall can't recommend the place enough.
We have just returned from this fabulous hotel, we took the water taxi from the airport which dropped us off directly outside which is very convenient. We booked a superior room which we thought would have a canal view but alas didn't, so upgraded (at a cost) to the suite which is room 103, which I have to say was fantastic with two balconies and is so spacious, a real treat if you can. Breakfast was included which was really good, staff were very attentive, nice garden by the bar which wasn't open due to the weather I presume, but would be a lovely spot for a drink. Murano and Burano are a lovely trip well worth visiting, had a lovely lunch in Murano. We didn't find any prices from restaurants or bars ridiculously expensive as we were told, all the staff we came across were extremely charming. Definitely worth a trip, four days would be plenty I think.
Wonderful hotel situated in a central location with. Ferry stop at the door. Hotel breakfast was faultless and the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Priced at the higher end of the tourist class hotel I recommend it if you are in Venice for a few days.
Palazzo Barocci is a beautiful, charming hotel on the Grand Canal. It is right next to the St. Angelo Vaporetto stop which makes getting around easy. If you're a walker and love wandering and winding through narrow streets (as they say the best way to appreciate Venice is to be get lost - but if you have decent bearings you really won't), it's an easy walk to a variety of locations within Venice including being about a 10 minute walk to St. Mark's Square and about 10 to 15 minutes from Rialto Bridge. The room was a good size and well laid out. A highlight were the pillows on the bed which were the best I've experienced anywhere. The shower was upscale with a rain shower as well as hand held shower head and great water pressure. There was plenty of closet space if you prefer not to live out of your suitcase. There was a lovely area to have breakfast in the morning or drinks in the evening (they also have light meals but with so many restaurants in Venice we chose to explore them instead). The property is very well maintained. There was always water and apples in the lobby. The staff was very helpful and they took care of making arrangements for our water taxi to the airport. We were also able to purchase our Vaporetto 3 day pass from them (well worth it!). In addition, standing in front of the hotel as the sun began to set we had marvelous views of the Rialto Bridge among other terrific sites of the sun setting on the city. While we absolutely loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again, the only slight negative was that we were in a corner room which appeared to have a connecting door and 2 of the 4 nights we were there we could hear the people in the room next to us.
Stopped here for 3 nights in April. The hotel was in a perfect location on the grand canal and could reach all the hotspots easily. The staff were very friendly and more than helpful. The hotel was spotless and we were always welcomed back to a tidy clean room with added touches such as chocolates on the pillows. Plenty of delicious choices at breakfast! Would love to go back, highly recommended! Thankyou for a memorable stay!
The hotel was excellent. The staff were superb and handled or upgrade wry quickly and we ended up with the best room in TH Whiteley with a wonderful terrace and view of the Realto Bridge across he Grande canal. What more can you ask for.
Palazzo Barocci is ideally located on the Grand Canal, next to the Sant' Angelo Vaporetto Stop. Piazza di San Marco, Accademia and Rialto Bridge can be easily reached from here. Staff were quite helpful and courteous. I had engaged them months before my arrival for information on places of interest, transport routes etc. Responses were received quickly. The room was quite clean and comfortable. I had no issues with sleeping. Absolutely loved the bathroom :o) and an ironing board was made available upon request. I highly recommend staying at this hotel when in Venice. I hope to return soon!
