What a huge disappointment, we arrived at the hotel to be taken to an outside room, where we had 2 interleading rooms. The minute the door was opened my husband gagged from the disgusting smell the room had, it was dull, damp and smelly. The beds were like sleeping on pieces of wire, no foam for comfort on the matresses and the "beautiful hand made mirrors" have MOULD SPOTS all over them. We sadly had to forfeit our money as the owner has now refused to refund us, but we couldn't stay in those rooms and had to fine alternate accommodation. 3 star.......1 star is my rating!
Had the unfortunate experience to stay in ground floor rooms 1 and 2. We were moved to better accommodation on the first floor. We found that staying on the ground floor carpeted room caused allergy asthma. Room 2 sold as a double room was so small you could not open the wardrobe to put your clothes away. The toilet was so close to the shower my tall husband found it very difficult to fit on. Because of the tight angle of the toilet, in both rooms, the seat was falling off. Breakfast was chargeable at the start of the visit but became included by the end of the 4 day stay. Due, no doubt due to the poor take up of the service. A trip to the supermarket happily gave a better breakfast. The ground floor terrace doubled as bin store so smelt. Our improved family room was nicely decorated but poorly maintained. No ventilation system in the bathroom, other than a window, meant a the shower was happily developing mildew. Yes a nice quiet location and traditional decor but to the detriment of good basic housekeeping.
This hotel is reasonable priced for including breakfast, something that seems rare. The staff is very polite, and the decor of the hotel was very nice for us. Tapestry wallpaper, Venetian curtains and style, Murano glass chandeliers. The building was old and refinished throughout, but the furniture seems at least 100 years old and repainted by hand...high ceilings (note: not one stain anywhere) , beautifully repainted, with original wooden Venetian latching windows. I hope I described it correctly. We got one of the rooms with a private bath. The area is very tranquil and we did pay 7.5 euros each to come by water bus to Murano. It's actually wonderful because you want to make these kind of trips while in Venice. We split up the nights on our trip, and are staying in Venice for the last night. There are some great landmarks to visit right here on Murano.
Nice local style hotel on Murano, about 20 min boat ride from the Venice. If you prefer a more quiet environment away from all the tourists this is a perfect place for you. Rooms were clean and lots of space. Breakfast was OK. Staff friendly and helpful. Wifi a bit slow.
Coming from UK, we stayed 4 nights ( 4 to 8th july) . We enjoyed a lot ! Nice room. Welcoming staff and manager ( thank you Valentina). Nice breakfast and we used the terrace every evenning for our dinner pic nic .( supermarket at 5 min )..I have recommended this venue to all my friends. A bargain ! Thanks again. Helen and Bruno
We arrived after a stressful journey at 1.30AM, but as promised on an email we had received when we told them that we arrived later, they left our key for us in a box outside the hotel with a lovely note. We slept very well, the room was cosy and comfortable with a very clean and tidy shower room. We woke very early and with breakfast only around 6 euros per person, and up some stairs, we were able to eat in the sun with a wide variety of options. Although our visit was only a fleeting one, they were very polite and made us feel very welcome. The boat is a lovely journey from Murano to Venice island and if we would have had more time we would have loved to explore Murano. It was a really beautiful island. Perfect for couples and families.
Lovely quite hotel with a wonderful receptionist. Room was perfectly adequate although maid when cleaning the room needs to make sure they close the windows when done so the air conditioning isn't working overtime for nothing! Comfortable bed, lovely towels, mini bar although we didn't use was well stocked and not over priced. Safe included Breakfast is good, toast, jam, honey, Nutella, juice, cereal, ham, cheese, salami, yogurt, fruit, croissants, tea, coffee and chocolate. Breakfast room warm as is a sun terrace and other customers prone to closing windows to deter pigeons! Short walk to the vaporetta stop of murano museo and also close walk to the coop supermarket.
I picked this hotel because of location, budget, and pictures. Well there are pros and cons. First it was originally an old glass factory and was suppose to have a lot of great history. Also the pictures made it look very nice and elegant. The reality is that though the room did look very nice, it was very very small. we couldn't get the wardrobe doors open all the way with the bed there and there was not a lot of other places to put your luggage. I realized later that it must have originally been a larger room that they cut in half. The bathroom is also very tiny, as are most things in Europe. The pictures are misleading. The beautiful courtyard that was shown in them we only saw once and it was tiny. Also I do not remember the Wi-Fi being free and the breakfast was overpriced - however there are not a lot of choices on the island so I guess they figured they could charge you. The person at the desk was nice, though, and the room was clean and comfy. The location was great. We actually stayed in June 2015, not 2016
This hotel is tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of the touristy area of Murano. The interior is classics Venetian. The room was very clean on arrival and the reception staff very pleasant and helpful. The main areas of the hotel could do with some updating, however this did not distract from what was a lovely and peaceful stay. The courtyard was lovely and the smell from the wall flowers heavenly.
it is actually a nice B&B. There are lovely Murano glass Chandeliers in the passageways and a smaller one in the room. Each room has floor to ceiling chic fabric wallpaper. The bed was comfortable. Decent size bathroom but the bathroom door is jammed due to a problem with the hinges. The Hotel is not located near the waterways (it is a leisurely 10 minute walk from the Museo jetty for the "actv" Vaporetto). so there is not much of a view from the windows. Our room (#16) although lovely to look at had an ancient air-conditioning unit whose compressor was clearly not working. It was > 30 deg C outside.Did complain to the reception in the afternoon itself to change the room, but was told that things would improve at night. They didn't and we couldn't sleep since opening the windows for a cool breeze brought along hordes of mosquitoes. The lady in the morning was more helpful and evidently arranged for the maintenance team to have a look the morning that we left.
