Locanda hotel at Murano is just ok. The hotel is in the island of murano about 30 to 55 minutes in boat taxi from venice san marcos plaza so if you have no hurry to get to were the action is then it's ok for us that was fine! The inconvinient is a little walk with your luggage from the boat stop to the hotel about 3 blocks or more. The room is really clean and staff friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is really light bread fruit and cereal only!!! What was really wrong with our room was that hot and cold water keep coming and going either to hot or to cold at times!!!! And if you have room 11 and nobody is in the room below you ok! That was in our case for the first nite! But in the second they had guests in the room below!!! A real nitemare!!! You can hear every step and move in the wooden floors! Even the people talking! And they didn't stop until 2 am!!!! Terrible! So just ask about your room before booking in!
we had a good time in venice. The hotel was good. Liked it a lot. Good service and big bed
I have stayed in other hotels and this was a very nice hotel. The location in Murano was good and easy to find. The room was small as most hotel rooms in Europe are; however, it was clean and very nice. The statf were very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again.
Away from the crush of downtown Venice. Fairly easy access on the DM Ferry. A plesant place to stay and a good value. Would do it again.
Hotel was in a good location and the rooms were good. Didn't like the number of stairs that needed to be taken to get to the room and the buffet breakfast was not the best with everything being prepackaged and not much of a selection
There are too many mosquitos. Could not sleep well. I had 5 mosquitos bites on my face!
The Hotel Locanda Conterie was a relatively comfortable stay on the island of Murano. Our room was slightly musty, likely due to a leaking shower, but otherwise the location was very charming. I wouldn't suggest staying on Murano though, as you would be better served going on a day trip to visit. Many things close early and the entire island could be done in a couple hours (tourism wise). This hotel was much less expensive though than many in Venice, so it is a good option for travelling on a budget. To get to any other islands you will have to pay a $6.50E one-way water bus ticket. So that can get pricey if you do much back and forth. The island is definitely worth a go as the glass work is amazing, but I would suggest staying in Venice and making a day trip of it.
Beautiful, Great! The Hotel Locanda Conterie represents everything that I love about Italy. Upon our arrival the consierge was so helpful and friendly, it was like being welcome to someone's Italian Villa! The Hotel is located in Murano, a few minutes in vaporetto from Venice, beautiful area and away from the crowd of tourist. Continental breakfast was included in our rate, everything great. If you are looking for a beatiful place at a very good price this is a grat choice. A little slice of Italian tradition and hospitality!!!!
I had arranged for two rooms for 5 people for one night. Upon arrival I was advised that there was a plumbing problem and one room was not available. The best they could do for us was to provide one room for all five. We were three adult women, one 14 yr old girl and one 35 yr old male. Venice hotels were completely booked out. We had no choice but to accept the one room with 2 bunk beds, two twin beds and one cot that was held up by two wood blocks to keep it from slumping in the middle. The blocks were unsuccesful in their performance, to have 5 persons squeezed into a room that might have been intended for 3 persons. The bath as could be expected was very small with the toilet abutting the shower stall. Not only would I not ever return to this hotel I will also make sure everyone I know will be advised of my experience. I am very very disappointed with my experience.
