We stayed here, along with 20+ guests from our wedding. Hotel is modern and a perfect base to explore Venice without the madding crowds! The Lido has an abundance of bars, shops and restaurants. Skip breakfast as there are a number of coffee shops on the high street. Or just have the express breakfast in the bar if in a rush. We will be back!

This hotel has fantastic staff, very helpful and friendly its located in a very quite street on a beautiful island just a ferry ride away from the main city Venice. The hotel is clean and well kept and has a good breakfast bar also room service. Beware tho if you are on the 3rd floor you could end up having an attic room. room 427 had a good sized room with a slopping roof, three small foot high windows from the floor up and a sky light in both the bedroom and bath area. there was no stand up shower due the slope but had a bath which was nice and deep. Overall a nice place to stay

We stayed at Villa Pannonia at the end of September. We spent our days at the beach swimming in a pool-like sea and exploring Venice at nights. That turned out perfect, because it was too hot for us to walk in the city during the day with a baby. Location is amazing as mentioned before! Our room (101) was perfect and we were surprised by the professional room service-every day we had fresh towels and replaced toiletries, also bed sheets after our baby spell her food. Front desk and staff were very friendly and kind! Thank you! We had breakfast outside the hotel (main reason was that we love to sleep in) and there were plenty places to choose from. Some things the hotel management could improve. One thing is that we left the windows open and had very many mosqitos during the night. Also,we left some marks after killing them on the ceiling and walls,so maybe some mosqito net on the windows would be a good idea. Our baby had alot of bites and my husband too. Another thing is shower-the water just gets everywhere in the floor and then you don't have anything to wipe it off, so we had to use towels to dry the floor. Maybe there is some solution to that. Overall we would stay there again! And price for the quality us exellent!

We chose to stay in Lido rather than on Venice island itself simply because it was so much cheaper! I was worried about our choice before we arrived but I needn't have been. Lido was a great choice and Villa Pannonia was a fabulous place to stay. Its situated a few minutes walk from the main vaperetto stop and just a street away from the main highstreet where there are a handful of bars, restaurants, shops etc. Its about ten minutes, if that, to St Marks Square and the Vaperetto system is easy to work out ( abit like the Underground on water...) The hotel is very clean and modern and our room was incredibly spacious. Service was exceptional although I did find it strange to hand in your key each time you left - although not really a problem its just not something ive encountered before. We only had breakfast in the hotel on the day we left, just for ease, and it was fine but to be honest there are so many lovely cafes with wonderful pastries that you're better off finding your own thing. There are lots of nearby restaurants that were lovely too and the feel of Lido is so much more relaxed than Venice island itself. I was so glad we chose to stay here. I would certainly stay here again if I was to return to Venice.

These people really understand the meaning of quality. We stayed for four nights and liked everything about the room, restaurant and service. It has modern furnishings, which we like. Wifi, cable TV in English, all devices worked perfectly. It is a short walk to the vaporetto, so you can save a lot by staying on Lido versus staying in Venice proper. Very highly recommended.

The room i very small and the bathroom even smaller. I cannot understand How is possible to get 4 stars with so small rooms. The rooms are clean and the forniture are modern. The location is good. The personnel are Kind. That's enought for a 4 stars. I Don't believe it.

We stayed here with our 2 teenage sons (19 and 15) for 3 nights before getting on a cruise from Venice Port. What a lovely hotel with super, friendly staff. The Lido has a laid back holiday resort feel to it. Felt very safe for our boys to wander around on there own at night. Villa Pannonia is within walking distance of the Water Bus depot. where we got the water bus to Venice for the day and then on our last day, over to the cruise port. The Villa is one street back (in a lovely quiet road), from the main stretch (which has endless cafes, restaurants, shops). The main stretch also takes you down to the beach, a slow 10 minute walk from Villa Pannonia. I wouldn't say the beach was the prettiest I have ever seen, but very family friendly. Villa Pannonia is what I would describe as a boutique hotel. It isn't big, it's perfect. The rooms were modern and spotless, with fridges and lovely free toiletries. The breakfast looked lovely (we were wishing we had booked B&B, not room only). It has a little forecourt in the front, where we would have the most enormous glass of wine in the evenings (reasonably priced). What makes this hotel is the staff. What lovely, friendly people! Nothing was too much trouble, always a smile and a wave. Too often my teenage sons are ignored or not listened to when we are in hotels. Not here! Well done Villa Pannonia, we will be back!

This is a lovely, clean, friendly hotel just one street back from the Lido Main Street and a 5 min walk from the Waterbus. We had a family room in the attic and my only complaint is that there is no proper shower - it was just a hand held shower head over the bath, which had a sloping ceiling making it difficult to stand up in. It was so easy getting back and forth to Venice each day, or going onto the Lido beach (which is stunning).

Lovely room. Lovely hotel. Lovely location. Close to a number of bars, restaurants and shops and in walking distance to the boats and beach. If visiting Venice again we would definitely return to this hotel or another on the Lido rather than the hotels on Venice. Loved seeing the locals go about their every day business.

First of all, while this is a very nice, reasonably new small hotel, it is not a 4 star hotel by any international standard. It is a solid 3-3.5 stars. The hotel is conveniently located on the beautiful Lido di Venenzia and takes perhaps 5-10 minutes walk down the smooth stone and beautifully remodeled main street sidewalk from the S.M.E. stop of the vaporetto or the Alilaguna transit from the airport (it is about 1 hour for the ride from the airport via Alilaguna and 20 minutes to St. Marks via Vaporetto) If you are familiar with Lido, then you know the Austonia and Hungaria....Villa Pannonia is just behind that hotel on a quiet street, one block off of Santa Maria Elisabetha Boulevard. The public spaces of the hotel are clean and modestly stylish and modern. The staff is very nice. This is a small hotel and there are 3 stories above the lobby and two medium sized elevators are available which serve all three stories. (one serves floors 1 & 2 and one serves floors 1-3). The entire hotel is non-smoking (which is wonderful for us as the rooms were fresh smelling, as were the public spaces). Our room may have been the smallest room in the property, which was not very comfortable for a 7 day stay...the hotel was not full so I think we were "taxed" for booking through a travel site rather than through their own website. There was about 1 meter of space around the bed on any side, maximum 1.5 meters...so it was very tight. They did squeeze in a desk, desk chair, minibar, luggage rack, TV and wardrobe, so the room had all the ammenities, but very tightly packed. Needless to say there was no room for a reading chair. The room had a generously sized laptop safe in the wardrobe, some extra room in the minibar fridge for water we bought. Our room had airconditioning which worked very well. The bathroom was smallish, which is ok, but there was absolutely not one inch of space to put one's toiletries. The shower was ample sized (grout needed a bit of cleaning as there was mildew in it) and the provided shampoo, shower gel and lotion were very nice.... The 12 Euro breakfast is adequately stocked with cold items (bread, rolls, cakes, croissants, muffins, salami, ham, proceutto, cheese, yogurt, cereals, juices) and coffee is self service - so as plentiful as you wish. While it is not a "bargain" price for breakfast, it is pleasantly served in the modern breakfast room and convenient to have this. Be aware that the hotel is primarily families, so there are lots of children and babies at the breakfast. Upon the date we were leaving, we had asked for a 1.5 hour extension to leave the room at 12:30 and were told this was not possible. We were granted an extension to noon but at 11:30 we were called politely and asked if we realized the checkout was at 11. After such a long stay, I thought this refusal to allow us 1.5 hours extra was a bit rigid... All in all, I would recommend this hotel to non-business travelers. I would recommend that you request a 2nd floor room (the elevator to the 3rd floor was out of order for a day during our stay so I suppose if you were on the 3rd floor, you had to walk down to 2nd floor to catch an elevator). I would also recommend that you make sure to request one of the larger rooms.. (ours was 116 - 2nd floor and very, very small)....especially if you will stay more than a night or two. Now for the one really important complaint against this hotel, and I have not seen reference to it from anyone else, but my husband and I both noted that these were the hardest and most uncomfortable beds we had ever encountered in a hotel. Our backs were hurting more each night we stayed. The linens were clean and fresh and the pillows were clean and fresh but the matresses were so hard that we would never consider staying at the hotel again as it was so unpleasant. I am American and he is French, so maybe our expectations are for a softer bed....
