Superbly located hotel which is bit dated but nonetheless comfortable with friendly staff. We were upgraded to junior suite with great canal side view. Breakfast was ok with some fresh fruit on one of the days. All in all a great value hotel.
Basic room but very comfortable, breakfast is continental but lots of choice. Hotel is very clean and staff are very helpful and polite. St Marks Square is just a 20 minute walk. The cafes around the square are very reasonably priced considering where they are, you'll pay 12 euros for a glass of wine. The gondolas are 80 euros per gondola before 7pm for around 25/30 minutes. A private water taxi from the airport to the hotel was 120 euros for the four of us with hand luggage If you don't fancy the walk into town for your evening meal there are a few neighbouring bars serving food which we found reasonably priced and the food was lovely. All in all we enjoyed our time in Venice but found it expensive.. P. S bring a good pair of walking shoes!
We were lucky enough to stay at this charming hotel, from the outside it looks dated and tired, but that only adds to its character Reception staff are extremely helpful and speak excellent English, they have a good knowledge of Venice and can help you plan things to do on your trip Our room was basic, but it has all you would need, a mini fridge, bathroom and wardrobe space, the view from our window overlooked a smaller canal which was a pleasure to wake up to every morning Only negative regarding this hotel would be the breakfast, it offers a continental breakfast which quickly runs out of food such as plain croissants, also getting a table for breakfast is sometimes a problem Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Venice and a bonus that it is surrounded by local restaurants and bars which offer lovely food About a 10/15 minute walk to St Marks Square
We have just returned from a wonderful week at this hotel and if we return to Venice will definitely stay at this hotel again. The location is fantastic, the staff are all really nice, the room clean and comfortable and it is so close to all the main areas to see. Other reviewers have commented about booking a room with a lagoon view and I so agree - we had a fantastic week but the thing that will always stay with us is the view of Venice from our room - this was awsome!!!!
Brilliantly located on the Via Giuseppe Garibaldi and a fabulous view of the Grand Canal. We chose this hotel of the back of a Trip Advisor review and the main thing we liked from that was that there are 2 tables and chairs outside the hotel where you can have breakfast or sit during the day or evening. The hotel has a bar so what could be any more perfect than sitting outside in the glorious sunshine having your breakfast or after a tiring few hours walking around Venice sitting outside your hotel with a coffee or a glass of wine looking out at the grand canal. We were not dissapointed!!! The hotel staff recommended us lovely restaurants and were warm and friendly. They spoke perfect English (which is always helpful) the rooms are small and more drawers would have been useful for clothes in space is obviously limited in Venice as it is in most cities! There is a Coop (supermarket) a couple of minutes walk along the street which was great to buy bottles of water and snacks or fruit from. St Marks Square is just minutes away across a few bridges walking along the Grand Canal - such a lovely walk lined with shops restaurants and market stalls and the Arsenale boat stop is about 3 minutes walk away. I would imagine the ground floor rooms could be a little with people walking past the rooms but as the hotel is small there shouldn't be too many people passing. I can't wait to go back one day to Venice and I will DEFINITELY stay in this hotel when I do go back!
I absolutely loved staying here the Staff are friendly welcoming & Seviced is excellent. Room was clean view from window overlooking the water .... Absolutely fabulous would go back 😍. It was close to St Marks & excellent location love love love oh & breakfast is good too .
This hotel is about 10 mins walk east of St.Mark's Square with the crowds left behind you and the lovely Garibaldi street out front with the lagoon as a backdrop. It has great staff, especially Ricardo at the front desk and you can sit outside having breakfast looking over the boats coming and going. It is a short walk to a vaporetto station and the rooms are very comfortable with air conditioning and standard Venetian fittings. It is lovely to be able to wander around Giardino and then come back and relax in the downstairs lounge or in your room. Worst thing was the tiny entrance to the shower - a 1960s couple of sliding doors on a corner that did not allow anyone larger than a size 6-8 to enter the shower easily. Of course, you work out a system and we did. It is a lovely hotel, good colazione and comfortable rooms.
This little Pensione is close to the Arsenale vaporetto stop and only a few minutes walk from St Mark’s Square. We enjoyed it for its simplicity and the warmness of the welcome. No airs and graces and all quite simple, but for a single night in Venice it was more than adequate. We had room 204 which gave us splendid views of the Lagoon and we were given excellent restaurant advice and ended up joining a party at Georgio’s restaurant, a few minutes walk along the Via Garibaldi. The host produced a guitar and a neighbor and entertained the guests for a happy sing song and before long some jovial dutch ladies were dancing on the street. Breakfast was simple but very good, and we enjoyed capturing one of the outside tables and watching Venice wake up. Seeing the mums and the school kids being dragged off to school was a pleasure, and it all felt like open air TV.
We could be picky and moan about some of the hotel decor being a little tired, the breakfast being limited ( continental only) and small rooms but we won't . What it lacks in finesse is more than made up for by the location, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. We had a room looking out onto the water and could have spent hours just watching the world ( and cruise liners) go by , glass of wine in hand. There are numerous bars and restaurants close by , and the main attractions are in walking distance .This Hotel doesn't try to be 5 star and in truth if it were it would lose its character and charm . Great stay and would stay here again
Forst the postiives- very good location, friendly staff, breakfast was good- although espresso from coffee machine wasn't! Our room (302 is the one to avoid!) though was not great- we were on the ground floor close to the recpetion/breakfast room which meant noise from around 6.30am. It was dark- it looked out on to the inner courtyard and our privacy was compromised everytime someone walked through it. Although the bathroom looked new enough the pipe came off the sink and flooded it. Looks like the same had happened with the toilet previously (there was tape around the pipe).
