The staff were great. However, this hotel has really been badly patched rather than actually maintained over the years it seems. Our bathroom & shower were in a disappointing, made it feel a bit gross. Our trim fell out of our window at one point. We were woken up one night by the fire alarm for a heat issue of some sort, the staff at the desk seemed completely lost as to what we should do with a fire alarm going off so we all incidentally stood at the front desk. The next night we were woken up by a lot of noise from ongoing work. Disappointed in what we paid versus the experience at the hotel.

Great service. Good room. So-so experience. We were woke up in the middle of the night around 3AM to a deafening alarm type of sound that went on for nearly half an hour. At about 330AM, we hear someone saying “There is a heat sensor that has gone offf but there is no need to evacuate. This is a false alarm.” Thankfully the alarm soon went off shortly after. I understand that this hotel is a part of the mall BUT I still believe that some compensation for the lack of sleep would’ve been appreciated.

We stayed in the Carrie Cates Suite and were blown away by the amazing view of the downtown skyline and the Lions Gate Bridge. The area around the hotel was perfect for walking and dining and the proximity to the SeaBus can't be beat. Check in staff (Harry) and housekeeping were fantastic.

Good place to stay. Microwave in room and balcony. Interior of rooms is dated but it's nice to ba able to open a window to get fresh air or sit on the balcony with a view which you don't get in new hotels where you are constantly in a climate controlled environment. Shops and good eateries right down stairs at the Lonsdale Quay market or around lower Lonsdale. Quick seabus ride and you are in the heart of downtown. Would recommend and come back.
