The hotel was not 4 star. On arrival you walk into a tired reception and are greeted by unhelpful staff. Then to the rooms . An empty minibar, free water provided but only on the first say, limited tea and coffee, poor quality towels. Then to the facilities gym and spa closed, no room service. Anything you wanted you called but had to fetch yourself. 2 star max experience.
Basic hotel, bad WiFi, don't expect a gym or a sauna room to be available. I would rate it a 2* max. Free bottle of water in what is advertised as a free mini bar, non alcoholic drinks only, another lie, it is for the 1st night only !! Do not believe the Hotels hype.
Staying at this at the moment, cant believe how good it is.Staff at reception and dinning are excellent. The bedroom and bathroom are huge and are very well appointed.Opposite hotel is bus stop(bus8)goes directly to city Hall(ayuntamiento) where you can walk to to main attractions , highly recommend this hotel just a pity we have not more time to spend here
This is a plain and impersonal modern hotel on a very busy intersection where noise can be a problem, although double-glazing and quiet air conditioning help to offset this. It is situated a mile or so from the city centre and unless one is ready to take taxis everywhere there is a lengthy walk (albeit on the flat) to restaurants and tourist attractions. Rooms are large and functional but clean (and a bonus for British visitors is the provision of a kettle for tea-making). The hotel has no facilities other than a bar area with efficient and friendly staff, but harsh lighting produces a poor atmosphere and the quality of the food was beyond disappointing, especially as the only dining option within walking distance, other than local bars, is a Chinese buffet of average quality next to the hotel. Breakfasts, however, were ok, with a reasonable choice.
The room was clean but quite basic. Not many wardrobe hangers. A kettle but the sachets were never replenished. Also, the wi-fi wasn't very good at all. You had an option to pay for a better service. All in all it's difficult to believe it's a 4 star hotel apart from in the price.
Usually when I write a hotel review I find it fairly easy to be complimentary with few criticisms but although this hotel is an impressive looking building and has nicely appointed rooms it does fall down in certain areas. Basically it is more a business person's hotel than a tourist hotel because it is pretty basic in the reception area (very few leaflets), no decent restaurant and is a long walk from the city centre. I had to change rooms because I couldn't sleep because of the traffic noise from outside (room 406) but the reception staff moved me to a very nice quiet room at the back with no hesitation (room 417) The breakfast was a good continental breakfast and there was tea making facilities in the room (unusual for the continent) There are no decent eateries nearby except for a Chinese banquet restaurant across the road which was quite good.
Rooms were clean but simple. Towels were inadequate, something one would expect in a cheap motel. Morning breakfast was poor as was service. Parking was difficult to maneuver. Front desk was friendly and helpful as we're the maids
After seeing the photo's and information about this hotel, we were very enthousiastic, but the reality was a little less great. It is a good hotel, but the lack of help at the reception, the location (builders everywere) and the smell outside, made it an ok stay
On arrival staff could have been more friendly..the lady receptionist was very uniformative when question asked regarding beach and road to walk to the centre. Rooms spacious...fridge to fill with our shop brought goodies. Bathroom excellent except towel quality was not 4 star. Tea and coffee in room. A bit far from main town after a full day out. The area around the hotel had bars and restaurants much cheaper than old town..
stayed here 3 nights, arrived by train from madrid.took a cab to the hotel,so we wouldnt get lost!its a good 15 minute straight line walk to the city centre, once you know the way!you can take the number 8 bus.we arrived at 1 and the lovely receptionist allowed us to check in early(unlike the mean staff in madrid).lovely modern room, free safe, good bathroom.breakfast excellent, nespresso coffee machine, fresh fruit, kelloggs cerael, bread, rolls and croissants, even freshly squeezed orange juice.you could even order omelettes.much better than our hotel in madrid!1 final comment, there were no english leaflets and newspapers, but the free wi fi was very good.also the restaurant wasnt great, ordered veg lasagne,it was a little tastless.
