Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Tyler2.5 out of 5.0

Pros: Clean, comfortable, quiet. Everything we would expect from a Fairfield Inn. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We were visiting Tyler to view the rose gardens and this Fairfield Inn was conveniently located to them. We would stay here again. Needing improvement: the room smelled like Lysol or some other cleaning item. Also rooms may not be cleaned until at least 6 pm. We expressed our dismay at this and the manager promptly handled the issue.
We were there for just one night, granddaughter's volleyball game. The staff provided excellent service; room was superb and extremely comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was way more that we expected. Plan on staying there on future trips to Tyler!!
Both of my parents are dead and the only sister I had has passed away as well. So when I go to Tyler for the revival a Marriott is my home away from home. I always feel comfortable there. I mostly use the fairfield Marriott but if it is not available I will use any of them.
The breakfast was good including yummy oatmeal with agave and fresh watermelon and pineapple chunks and access to my room was very easy. The cookies were delish in the afternoon and the front door staff hooked me up with some cold milk to wash them down with!
I stay at this location frequently and am always pleased by the staff and their hospitality. The rooms themselves always feel clean, however the building itself does seem old and the rooms and interiors could use an upgrade, carpets always seem a bit mildew-y.
This Fairfield by Marriott is a nice one. The rooms are clean, there are 3 floors, the elevator is large, and the breakfast area is excellent. Whether your in Tyler for work or personal business, the Fairfield is a good choice.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel is clean safe feeling. Booked two rooms for a girls weekend. They had no problem accommodating our request to have them side by side. Breakfast was waaay better than your normal "free continental." Would recommend to friend or family staying in Tyler.
Although I have Marriott gold status, I haven't stayed in any of Marriott's rooms as much as I used to. That said, we were planning a "camp pickup" for one of our kids this past weekend, and although I'd typically choose a Courtyard over a Fairfield, in this particular case I didn't figure there'd be that much difference, so I saved the $20 and went with Fairfield. The checking experience was pleasant, and (I'm going to butcher the spelling here) Joquanda was very nice and helpful. We were assigned to room 227, a two queen room. Immediately upon opening the door, we were met with a very mildewy smell, so much so that my wife said "this isn't going to work." Called the front desk and the two ladies there were a little frustrated, but worked to accommodate a move. We then had room 302, which did not smell, but was not clean. The developers chose a very dark black "marble" counter top which does not hide stains all that easily. It looked like there was candle wax or honey or something all over the counter. I used a washcloth to clean it up. Nice enough hotel, but if ever going back to Tyler, I'll probably cough up the extra $20 for the Courtyard, which was described by friends as "nice." Good luck
My daughter and I stayed here overnight so that we could go to Tiger Creek and I think this was a great place to stay. Now I do wish they would update their television as that thing is maybe 34" .. but that is 1st world problems lol .... Also my daughter's bed had a small dip in it and that is just replacing the mattress. But when I walked in the room smelled wonderful and was super clean. The front office employee was very nice and explained everything to us clearly. We were able to get the luggage wheelie thing (yes I don't know what that is called) to load and unload everything.. quite helpful! We didn't eat breakfast there because we are not early risers and I am gluten free/vegan.. so I knew there was going to be nothing for me. The location is PERFECT because your next to Broadway st. where everything is at and the mall is only like 3 lights down. Now I knew the pool was inside and hot tub.. but somehow seeing it just made me not want to use it. I would say that is the downside to here. If you want the "normal" pool on the outside or on the roof type thing.. this place is definitely not for you. BUT over all if you need a clean, nice place to sleep and feel safe.. this is the perfect place.
From the moment I checked in I felt right at home in this hotel. The sweet lady at the desk was very helpful and allowed me to check out my room first. It was perfect. The morning breakfast was delicious and I know if I am ever in Tyler again I will stay here at the Fairfield Inn.
