We loved our stay at Coco Unlimited. The place is beautiful and very relaxing, especially since we had the oceanfront room. The location is walkable to famous restaurants like Ilios, Vagalum, Casa Banana, etc. It’s also within walking distance of the Ven a Luz sculpture. The breakfast selection was good and the staff were awesome! Shoutout to Edith and Guillermo they were super accommodating and very helpful with our inquiries. If given the chance to go back to Tulum, we will definitely stay here again!

The location is unbeatable—nestled between lush jungle and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, it feels like a hidden oasis. Waking up each morning to the sound of waves and birdsong was pure serenity. The rooms were beautifully designed, blending modern luxury with natural elements. Everything was immaculate, with thoughtful touches like locally sourced bath products, cozy robes, and stunning views from the private terrace. The property was on the beach in a perfect location. My room was in great condition. Staff did an excellent job of preparing the room. The property was well maintained. had great food and drinks. I want to give mention to couple of staff Edith, at the front desk and David, in the restaurant. We had a wonderful stay at this property! From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff were incredibly sweet and welcoming. We truly appreciated the room upgrade and the overall attentiveness during our visit. They made us feel right at home. One standout moment was when we ran into an issue with an ATV we had rented from a separate company up the road. Unfortunately, it broke down in the middle of Tulum center after just one ride, and the contact number we were given wasn’t working. In a bit of a panic, we called the hotel for help, and they went above and beyond. They actively helped us track down someone from the rental company to come assist us. It was such a relief and speaks volumes about how much they care about their guests, even beyond the hotel experience itself. Highly recommend this place — not just for the comfortable accommodations, but for the exceptional hospitality. We did come during seaweed season, but that didn’t stop us from have a pleasant stay here. We’ll definitely be back.

We enjoyed this quiet area. The staff was very helpful offering to carry luggage and getting cold water for the room. The beach sand is white and soft. There a lot of places to sit and relax on the beach. The air conditioning took a long time to cool down the room. We found that keeping the bathroom door closed helped a lot. For the shower, the water was either cold or colder. Apart from the hotel, I would suggest checking on the sargasso levels along the beach before booking. Unfortunately, we came during the height of one of the heaviest sargasso seasons. As a result, we could not get in the sea to swim. This affected all coastal areas, to a reflection on the hotel.

Smell the sewers once we get to the area. The free breakfast has limited options, and you can order 1 meal per person. We book the front beach honeymoon suite but the air-con is not cold just like a fan. We downgraded our room but the same thing AC not working at least there is a ceiling fan.

Honest Review from Canadian Travelers – A Mixed Stay at Coco Unlimited We stayed at Coco Unlimited for a week and had a mixed experience. Positives: The room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job. Fresh towels were available upon request, and we appreciated the overall cleanliness. Service manager Allen was kind and helpful. The location is beachfront and close to popular spots, which initially drew us in. Negatives: Breakfast was only good 2 out of 6 mornings. Our last meal was undercooked, and after a prior bad experience with the same server, we opted to leave the food and eat elsewhere. Food overall was disappointing—what should’ve felt like resort dining was more comparable to a mall food court. For example, two micheladas, taquitos, and bland grilled shrimp cost $140 CAD—poor value. The beach was unusable due to heavy seaweed, a major letdown since beachfront access was a key reason for booking. The pool is small and often loud with kids, making it hard to relax. Wi-Fi was down an entire day, forcing us to go elsewhere to work and check into our flight. We were told this was due to the hotel being a “medium-sized business”—yet the beach bar next door had working Wi-Fi. Overall, while we appreciated the clean room and a few kind staff members, Coco Unlimited didn’t deliver the value or experience we expected for the price. It may be fine for a short overnight, but we wouldn’t return for a full vacation. For a true resort experience, look elsewhere
