We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful, clean and comfortable bed and breakfast, and OH the breakfasts! Janos was a warm and welcoming host, and he prepared the most incredible breakfasts. We're still talking about the Huevos Rancheros and the French toast, and he was happy to accommodate a vegetarian diet for one of us. Located on the quiet side of Tucson, we found the B+B to be the perfect jumping off point for hiking in Saguaro National Park and Sabino Canyon, and stargazing up at Mt. Lemon. We really enjoyed our time in Tucson, and the starting and ending the day at the Starcatcher made it that much more special. Thank you, Janos!
The breakfast alone was worth the visit. The location is close to the visitor center for Saguaro National Park east side. You can walk down the street and get on some of the hiking trails for the park. Very comfortable place, very quiet. Unfortunately, the owner is probably going to retire soon so it may not be open much longer.
We just enjoyed several nights at the Suncatcher Fine Country Inn. I can absolutely add an enthusiastic "DITTO" to each review here. Janos is a gracious, warm host, from his morning greeting while pouring your coffee to offering you a cool beer as you sit on the patio after your day's adventures. You will be spoiled by his delicious breakfasts and they will set you up for the day. The setting of the home is on the eastern outskirts of town and you are surrounded by nature. Our king-bed room was spacious and comfy. The views from the living room/dining area of the Catalina Mountains and countryside were a balm to the soul. If this is what you are looking for in a B&B you will love it, just as we did.
A lovely end to our holiday in Arizona. Janos is the best host we have ever come across being both charming and helpful. His breakfasts are wonderful, don't plan on eating again until the evening! We stayed 3 nights and particularly enjoyed the last "Mexican" breakfast. The location is perfect for the East Saguaro National Park but make sure (unlike us) you read the welcome e-mail before you look for the place. There are not many restaurants in the area so it's best to plan on eating in the evening before you return. The main room is large and airy with a marvellous collection of furnishings and decoration. We loved the setting with the surrounding local cacti and trees, we wish we had more time to relax there.. Arizona is wonderfully different as a holiday location from our wet and gray England. We want to return!
My husband and I were spending couple of days in Tucson and wanted to stay in a quiet setting. We found the Suncatcher B&B!! Janos, the proprietor, was a real joy. And what a chef!! He prepared the most delicious breakfasts. The facility was very cozy and quaint, with beautiful desert atmosphere. We had a wonderful room overlooking the pool. Janos, we will be back.... We were greeted by our gracious host, Janos, upon arrival; he provided incredible, filling gourmet breakfasts in a cozy light filled dining area looking out to mountain and garden vistas; and he provided helpful information on places to visit in the area. We enjoyed our conversations with him and the lovely accommodations: the old Tucson feel of the unique living spaces as well as our unique Dreamcatcher suite warmed by a kiva fireplace, with a very comfortable king sized bed and bedding as well as a well decorated and spacious ensuite We also enjoyed the hot tub on the patio located via sliders from our suite after most day's activities. We hated to leave and hope to return!
As mentioned in many other reviews Janos and his lovely wife are very gracious hosts, have lots of knowledge and cook wonderful breakfasts. The property is walking distance to Saguaro National Park which is beautiful. A very nice restful stay! Thank you Janos also for the enjoyable conversation and advice.
Suncatcher Inn is a beautiful house located in a somewhat rural area just outside the Tucson city limits on the east side of town. My wife and I spent 3 nights there in early October. It’s a great location from which to explore the eastern Saguaro National Park. Our host, Janos, lives on site and was very helpful if we had questions and/or needed anything. Our room was large and comfortable, the mini fridge stocked with bottled water and soft drinks. There are a few restaurants a short drive from the house…one evening we enjoyed take-out pizza from Magpies down the street along with a bottle of wine from the Safeway around the corner from it, and had dinner at a table in our room. Breakfasts were outstanding (and more than I usually eat the first 2 meals of the day). One note, there are dogs at the house...they were not bothersome or intrusive for my wife and me, but if you don't like dogs, this might be an issue. I highly recommend the Suncatcher Inn.
This B&B was amazing. The house was beautiful with huge windows with a beautiful scenic view. The lightening show during monsoon is incredible. The owner is hands down one of the nicest gentlemen I've met. He opened his home to us and made us feel welcome. The breakfast is without a doubt the finest. You will not go hungry when you stay there.
My husband and I were only in Tucson for one night, but we had an amazing experience at the SunCatcher. Beautiful artwork adorns the walls, the accommodations are stellar down to the finest details, including memory foam bed, charming pool and hot tub, enormous, immaculate bathroom, and friendly dogs entertaining you through the sliding glass doors. Breakfast was three courses, fresh, and gourmet. I can't speak highly enough about our stay!
