We had a casita with a fireplace. Pretty awesome room. Except for the smell. After some drama and on the second day we finally found the problem ourselves… the toilet was not sealed and the sewer smell was terrible. We were even told that there had been other complaints about the room. But the problem wasn’t fixed. Front desk was pretty unconcerned with the smell and us wanting a different room… even with my young daughter with me. Asked to speak with a manager and still haven’t heard back. It has been a week. Emails and phone calls, with no answer. The property was beautiful. Pool was pretty awesome. Restaurant staff was amazing. The area was like a little village. Wish the room drama hadn’t messed it all up. And honestly if the staff or manager were interested in even communicating and caring about their patrons… would change a lot. I paid $200 a night and that was not worth it. A response or compensation is what I am looking for.

Overall experience was good. The property is beautiful with views of the Catalina’s from our room. The room could use a deep clean. We had a very good deep sleep. You cannot hear other guest on site at all which is a plus. We will stay again when we return.

I asked if the breakfast was included. The person at the desk asked my room # and replied no you made your reservation with Expedia. I think Expedia and the property should be upfront that there is a 2 tier experience. Left with a negative impression of what had been a good stay.

Walked in to check in and the front desk lady says “weren’t you just here” no greeting or anything. As we walk to our room, door 219 doesn’t open even though it’s the right key. As we go back to tell staff she says “oh yeah the door is difficult to open”, wouldn’t you fix it or let the guest know?.

We loved the ambience of the resort and a great place to relax. The pool setting is perfect. Unfortunately we did not get the room I reserved. They only have 2 of those rooms and they were already booked. Communication and the Cielos restaurant website needs to be updated. The food was delicious but the ribeye on the website was not available at the restaurant. It was my husband’s birthday and he was disappointed. Also we were told there was live music on Friday night and there is not, only Saturday night. The breakfast menu is no longer available, it is now a breakfast bar. Minor things but a string of them. Needs better management. The Happy Hour was excellent.

Even getting to the room was a wonderful experience: I walked through a fantastic cactus garden that was beautifully landscaped and lit at night. The room itself was amazing - large, cozy with a gas fireplace. But the most important part was the linens - the sheets were the softest, nicest sheets I've ever slept in.
