We had a casita with a fireplace. Pretty awesome room. Except for the smell. After some drama and on the second day we finally found the problem ourselves… the toilet was not sealed and the sewer smell was terrible. We were even told that there had been other complaints about the room. But the problem wasn’t fixed. Front desk was pretty unconcerned with the smell and us wanting a different room… even with my young daughter with me. Asked to speak with a manager and still haven’t heard back. It has been a week. Emails and phone calls, with no answer. The property was beautiful. Pool was pretty awesome. Restaurant staff was amazing. The area was like a little village. Wish the room drama hadn’t messed it all up. And honestly if the staff or manager were interested in even communicating and caring about their patrons… would change a lot. I paid $200 a night and that was not worth it. A response or compensation is what I am looking for.

My husband and I stayed at the Lodge on Christmas Eve as a little staycation. We reserved the Delux Spa King and requested a room with a fireplace. We were very pleased to receive a message the next day confirming that we would be in a fireplace room. We arrived just after 4 pm for check in and there were a few people ahead of us in line. The front desk associate, Christian, was very friendly, helpful, informative, and efficient and got all of us checked in promptly. We headed over to the restaurant, Cielos, which was very bustling. The hostess was extra accommodating and got us a table in the bar area. Our server was Benjamin, who was also the bartender. He was extremely busy but he did not miss a beat taking care of us. His service was impeccable and the cocktails he mixed for us were outstanding. We had the chips/salsa, Manchego cream pasta, green chile tamales, and cheesecake for dessert… everything was delectable! The room was clean and spacious. We relaxed in the oversized jetted tub and the fireplace made the room extra cozy. The super comfortable bed and pillows made it easy to get a good night sleep. The grounds are very beautifully landscaped with lots of native plants and desert wildlife metal art. This along with the building architecture, represent the heart of Tucson well. The highlight of our stay was the grey and white cat that greeted us in the courtyard upon check in, bid us a good evening after dinner, and wished us a Merry Christmas on our departure!

No microwave in my room. This room is a suite so I paid extra, and no microwave? Shocked by that. Weird coffee maker situation too. Also paid extra to be in a room with a jetted tub and the jets were VERY weak, and one wasn't working at all. Could have sworn the description said bfast was included, but the voucher I got was for free chips and salsa and a drink. Wasn't interested in that.

Overall experience was good. The property is beautiful with views of the Catalina’s from our room. The room could use a deep clean. We had a very good deep sleep. You cannot hear other guest on site at all which is a plus. We will stay again when we return.

Courteous young gentleman greeted me and provided me with detailed information. The room is spacious and clean. I especially enjoy walking to the restaurant Cielos on the grounds.
