Delicious breakfast, charming atmosphere, private casita

Pros: Great location, lovely large rooms, terrific staff. Good restaurant for creativity. The so-so: Breakfast: good coffee. Two choices, medium quality but not bad. The downside: the pool is lovely but small, and boxed in by the buildings so it has no views. I go to Tucson for the views! Likewise, the rooms on the first floor have no views at all. Mine had a sliding door only, no other windows, and the door accessed a tiny courtyard where I could enjoy tall Adobe walls and monsoon bugs biting me, but I wouldn’t exactly leave the door open for fresh air. All in all it’s a nice property but not my favorite.

Loved how clean it was.

The atmosphere and welcome we received was excellent. The room was very clean and we liked the southwest decor. The restaurant food was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed for one night for a family staycation. The landscape was lovely and staff was friendly and helpful. COVID precautions were followed, and the food was delicious. The location is nearby so many Tucson treasures and it’s to quiet and serene, you’d never know you’re right in the middle of town.

Loved the fireplace in the room. Restaurant was very nice !

Beautiful property rooms are amazing fire brings that home vibe staff amazing pool and jacuzzi was sparkling clean overall ill be coming back again.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It reminded me of the Motor Lodge in Prescott, AZ, but Pueblo style. The property is old, but unique and clean! One thing this property should do on their website and other 3rd party booking sites that would really make a HUGE difference is describe the arch style or even each room individually. The King Casita rooms are not all the same. Some have huge bathrooms and fireplaces and some have tiny bathrooms and no fireplaces. I froze to death (even with the heater on) and it would have been nice to had the option to get a fireplace and it cost the same amount of money it’s just up to the check in person where you get placed! They do not have space heaters (I asked for one) and the heat/ac units barely put out any heat. If you are going in the winter you may want to bring your own heater because the chances you get a room with a fireplace is a toss up. The restaurant is really nice and very expensive, but it is open to the public and did get really busy. I found it odd that the few times we went they always asked if we had a reservation and if we said no they basically would tell us you can only sit at these certain tables inside. When we checked in and asked if we even needed reservations we were told no. A bit of conflicting information. Just make one to be safe especially if you want to sit outside in the courtyard area. Would I stay here again? Yes, but it wouldn’t be my first choice!

Lodge on the desert is beautiful. Everything about the property makes you feel at home & is first-class. Definitely a great place to stay while in Tucson.

Although it looked a little worn down, it was actually lovely. The room had a wonderful fireplace and updated bathroom/shower. The restaurant was great too. Most of all, the desk people were warm and welcoming. Loved our experience at the Lodge on the Desert

The room was very spacious and the breakfast was great. It was clean, had a fridge, hairdryer, safe, iron and ironing board, robes, gas fireplace, jacuzzi tub and separate shower, toilet closet, very small patio. Furniture needed updating. It is an older hotel, the mattress was nice, the pillows were not so great and the bedding was adequate, but nothing special. I would give it a 4 rating not quite a five. Overall I liked the place and would stay again. It is close to the zoo and just over 6 miles to the Air and Flight Museum.

Quaint grounds, beautiful, spacious room, excellent breakfast

The great front desk service, very friendly. The Restaurant great burger!!

Cielos restaurant is some of the best food in Arizona. Nice property. The only issue is a bit of street noise from a busy road. Really, really great value.

Beautiful landscapes .Nice outdoor eating option with fireplace.

The facilities were generally very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but somewhat limited. Room was clean and bed was very good but room in general was "tired". could use some renovation (paint, fixing bathroom door so that it closed, etc.)

Rooms and property very nice. Restaurant served excellent food. Bar and staff very nice. Everyone at the front desk to the cleaning ladies were so nice and helpful. We will definitely return.
