I am a Marriott Silver Elite member. I make it a point to use Marriott hotels whenever possible. What that means is that I’m already used to a certain level of facilities and amenities. This hotel lacks some of the things that Marriott has me used to. For example: no 24/7 coffee/tea bar (only in the morning), no suitable space to sit for morning breakfast, not enough staff for morning breakfast. On the good side it is conveniently located north of downtown Tucson. It has a nice enough pool.
Breakfast could be better. A plus for coffee in the reception from 0500, and good coffee too. Great rooms, with fridge and micro. Two TV’s with possible connection too Netflix, Great. Nice warmed pool. ATM in the lobby is a Great +.
We stayed a week at the Residence Inn which is located in the financial district and just a block on one of the main arteries, Broadway. This allowed us to move around the city very easily, to various points of interest. We had a 2 BR 2BA unit, corner on the 4th floor. The room was clean, well appointed and we did not hear any noise in or out of the hotel. Breakfast is included and there was a wide variety available daily, including water with fresh fruit, brie, other cheeses, fresh fruit, cereal (cold and hot), pastries, waffles, eggs, variety of meats or biscuits and gravy. In addition, M - W evenings they have a get acquainted time with desserts on W, Sliders and outside, a Mexican food truck, M - mixer. While there is not a concierge, the staff is well acquainted with the area and offers assistance in things to do and how to get there. This is one of the nicer Residence Inn's we've stayed out.
We stayed here for a week in December and found it to be very comfortable. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Our room was spacious, fairly clean for the most part, and cosy. The bed and linens were very comfortable but the couch in our room was very worn and uncomfortable. Because we were here for a week our room had a fully equipped kitchen which was very functional. Our only complaint was that some of the dishes in the cupboard were visibly dirty so I had to put them all through the dishwasher prior to using. The daily breakfasts were very good with lots of selection of both hot and cold choices. When the hotel is full though, they should consider having extra staff on for breakfast service because on our last 2 days here the kitchen staff were unable to keep up with the food demand so many of the containers were left empty for long periods of time and even the dishes and cutlery supply containers were empty. The evening food socials on Mon, Tues, & Wed were very enjoyable with a generous amount of choices. Because of our length of stay here we made use of the laundry machines on the floor which were quite worn and the washing machine was very ineffective....for $1.50/load you only got a 25 minute cycle which included the time it took to fill the tub for the wash - and whether our clothes were even rinsed was very questionable. Some basic instructions for the laundry machines are greatly needed here. We found the location of this hotel great and very central to sights, shopping, and restaurants. Overall, we would stay here again if visiting Tucson.
The suite was comfortable & clean. The kitchenette was a big convenience during the middle of our week long trip, as we were in need of some homemade food. Just a few things missing - 1. No extra sheets/blanket for the sofa bed even though we had booked for 4 2. Just 2 pans. That is very minimal provision. Breakfast was good with fresh fruits.
Mean staff. Old rooms. Enough said. If you need to stay on the east side try the doubletree across the street. This is a terrible representation of the residence inn brand and i will be reporting my concerns to Marriott corporate.
We came to Tucson to bike "The Loop." We were able to bike from our hotel to the bike pathway. We also came to visit friends. Four turns and 30 minutes after leaving our hotel we were at their house in the foothills. Traveling to our other destinations was easy and quick also. Our studio room was ample size for us and our bikes. There is an outdoor pool which is conducive to swimming laps. There is also an outdoor hot tub. The exercise room is small with three machines (no exercise bike) and weights. Shopping and restaurants are nearby. Our floor was quiet. Our room, as do all RI rooms, had a full kitchen. A full American breakfast is included.
If you need to be in Tucson on business, I highly recommend this hotel. Its impeccably maintained, has a great breakfast every morning and features savory snacks and free adult beverages Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Check it out!
It's a Residence Inn and makes for a good stop if you are in town for other events. In my opinion, rates a little high for what this is but if you are looking just for beds to sleep in, does the trick just fine. Short drive to University of Arizona, decent breakfast, decent room and pool was fine. Rated low on service as room service was slow (late in the day) and absence of folks at front desk.
Typical residence inn with nice suites and standard breakfast for Residence Inn. Location is very good with many restaurants within minutes (even walking would be possible). Mall is only 2 minutes driving away. Hotel is what you expect from a Residence Inn.
