Well arrived at the hotel turn left out the train station and just keep walking to the end of the road signs for hotel are not facing you. Check in really quick and very friendly we had room 101 the room was really big and very clean there is a weird smell in the corridor smells a it like drains but the room was lovely. Bathroom really nice and had a bath and shower. Tea making facility's in the room which is a added bonus. Breakfast was continental but there was more then enough food. I don't know why people are moaning about this hotel the rooms and staff are lovely and Kevin and I would recommend it. Thank you to all the staff you made us feel very welcome.
I've been here for business. Room is big. Breakfast offers different food. The only complain is that there are no plug close to the bed. Workers inside are very kind and available. There is a mini bar in the lobby. A perfect stay for business travel
After staying in Holiday inn express for over 5 years this one was a total miss. Its an old building where are rooms are outdated, the mattress too soft and curtains that wouldn't cover the windows. Oh and the heating wasn't working all day just at night time and in that time it got way too hot. The staff was kind of helpful but they don't speak English which caused more issues. We asked them for a locker and they didn't know where the keys where or how much it cost (that's basic knowledge the staff should know!). When we came back at night we wanted a couple bowls and spoons(we had ice cream) and the staff member was way too rude to us telling us how she needed them for breakfast, rolling her eyes and kept mumbling! I mean take it easy lady its not the end of the world. The breakfast was ok nothing special. We had a car so it was easy to drive in and out. I would avoid it at all costs next time.
Nice room, confortable bathroom and faire breakfast. Good position close to a big park and not so far from train station. The only not so good point is lack of free of charge parking inside hotel premises.
Room was clean and of a standard size. No desk but a nice comfy chair, and a half-high table which you could use for both eating and working and was very comfortable and practical. Mattress was pretty soft, but bed was comfortable. Small TV, some English speaking (news) channels. Bathroom fine, hot water good. Unusually, iron and ironing board hangs on a wall in the bathroom (!). Wifi was fine, no problems. Enough power sockets. Unfortunately there is no proper heating system as there normally is in most hotels. Instead, there is a very noisy aircon-style unit. It barely works, and only when the heating is on. If you expect 24-hour heating think again, the heating is only run from 8PM to 1AM. The fan is very noisy, and the unit barely produces any heat. I had to borrow a heater from reception. This really lets the whole hotel and room down - you will freeze in winter and in summer have aircon but probably little sleep due to the noise. Breakfast is not bad, but there are *only* cold items and it's all pretty basic. There is bread, ham, turkey, chorizo, cheese, pastries, yoghurt, tortilla and coffee/tea. It will fill you up. Not many vegetarian items. Hotel is well located in the sense that it's about a 10 minute walk (downhill, with a suitcase) from the train station. The train line is C4 and the stop is Tres Cantos. Taxi to/from the airport is about EUR30. Taxi to other parts of Tres Cantos is EUR8-11. The staff at reception were helpful. Checkin and checkout was easy and fast.
The Bad: - The room was fine in size, but had this awful smell to it. - The bathroom was dirty, loads of hair on the floor, in the sink etc - The breakfast was poor The Good: - Near to station, which is 25min or so to central Madrid
The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast is of good quality and the hotel is around 5 minutes from Tres Cantos station. There was only one plug socket it my room but it was not too much trouble.
We've stayed here in 2013 and recently again. It's a brilliantly located hotel an easy drive from the airport and out of the bustle of the city. Travelling with young family there's a McDonald's round the corner and an amazing local park opposite with slides and climbing frames even older children will enjoy. A family of four children and two adults we had an adjoining room which was good. Rooms are clean and reasonably sized, staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast choice is large and varied. Park on the road outside until 11pm on a Friday for free weekend car parking.
Hi, as a New Zealand writer of short stories I do a lot of travelling around the world. My books are: Moments in Time, Bumpy Roads, Here Comes the Sun-Perhaps and So that's Life? Directions Tres Cantos is a three star hotel situated quite a distance from the centre of Madrid but 5 minutes walk from a Metro. The station name is Tres Cantos and you can find this train on the Colmenar line (this is important). If you arrive at the airport take the train to Chamartin or Sol and change to the Colmenar line. The train is cheap at 2.50 Euro each. At the Tres Cantos end turn left out the station and keep walking 100 or so metres down the road til you reach the hotel. Location is not a problem as the nearby train brings Madrid within easy reach. Shops and cafes Quite a few eating places nearby and a supermarket by the station and another down the road from the hotel. Wine is very cheap. Hotel Room I would rate the hotel 3.5 stars as the rooms are a reasonable size and clean. This hotel also provides a jug but alas no fridge. There are also complementary teabags and other items on request, and the staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help. Breakfast A complimentary breakfast is included. This comprises cereals, fruit, bread and pastries and the staff are happy for you to grab an apple on your way out. They have a coffee machine and fruit juice machine. Comparison I also stayed one night in the 3 star Travelodge Madrid Alcala and Holiday Inn was half a star better. We also stayed in Holiday Inn Madrid airport and we found this pretty much on par with Holiday Inn Tres Cantos. On this basis I would recommend Holiday Inn over Travelodge for Madrid. Brian Wilson
Although I am a fan of Holiday Inn hotels chain, this hotel in particular needs to step up in terms of look and attractiveness. The value for money is below average for this level. The quality ans speed of wi-fi internet is poor, what for business purpose is a must.
