The Fairmont Royal York

Recent guest reviews

The good old Royal York, always there, always just right. Convenient to Union Station (right across the street), a short walk to shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. if you’re mobility impaired, you might want to ask in advance about accessibility – there are lots of stairs at all entrances.

Nothing at all to complain about – excellent room, excellent service. I’ll stay here again and again.

The hotel is located in the Toronto transportation center, the Union. There are direct train to Pearson airport and subways to everywhere. You could access the Union station via hotel's underground pathway which also could take you to underground shopping mall and food court. Best of the best!

Well staffed. Courteous employees. Clean rooms.Helpful assistants.

The hotel is beautiful, a jewel from the past. Bathrooms a small and in some rooms they need to be redone.

Great place to stay - only a block from the CN Tower. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very accommodating.

The fairmount has a regal feel to it, in its design and decor. The staff wears old school uniforms, there's endless chandeliers, everything is detailed and covered in brass; it's almost like going back to the 20's, but that's a good thing because it doesn't feel dated. The staff was fantastic, very helpful in all aspects. The hotel has direct access to the underground right from the lobby which was nice and is across the street from the train station. The room was comfortable tho the beds were not (typical of most hotels) and the bathroom very small and cramped (my only real complaint). The cost is comparable to other hotels in the area and the location for us was great (a block from the hockey hall of fame and walking distance to the convention center and CN tower). It's different than most modern hotels and i think thats what added to the experience, my kids especially loved the nostalgic feel.

Right from the moment you enter the hotel, you are welcomed by the staff. I received a welcome text as well as a welcome on the tv. The rooms are very nice and clean. The only reason why I put a 4 instead of 5 is because the heat was cranked and took quite a while to cool down even with the window open. There isn't anything to complain about. Everything was awesome and I will definitely be looking to stay here on my next trip to Toronto. Thank you all for a wonderful experience

This hotel seems to be resting on it's former glories. The view outside of my room revealed posters laying on the roof, that according to the dates on the posters, had been there for over a month. The tub was less than clean with some mysterious black things all over the tub. While the website mentions self parking at a fair price, upon arrival, the valet told us, it's almost impossible to get into the self parking lot and that all of the local city lots were full due to the Raptors game. The only option was way over priced valet parking at $53 per day. The free WiFi is only available in the lobby, provided you can get a code from a staff member. If you want WiFi in your room, you will pay $16 per day.

As the hotel is across the street from the train station, it made travel from Montreal extremely easy and comfortable. Because we traveled in early December, the hotel was also decked in all its Christmas regalia. It was lovely.

Ok it was satisfactory, if you don't accept this comment then I will delete my survey

Beautiful! Friendly, up to date with history.Close to all near by attractions. Union Station across street, Pearson airport to Union Station! Staff friendly and helpful, from front desk to maid staff.

Good value for money. Well decorated rooms. Courteous staff.

Had to pay for internet. Was very disappointed in a room this expensive. Small room. Helpful staff and lots of good services like checking luggage at the bell desk.

A number of irritations that eventually worked out.niose next to the elevator,no flowers as requested, tv volume too low, battery. Lock no working until I replaced the battery, safe also didn't work until the tech replaced that bat and aniseed the locking device, fridge packed to the brim no room for our milk etc,.

A couple of annoyances, request for bouquet of flowers never appeared in the room. Delay at resevation desk regarding room location, took over 45 mins. Before selected. TV volume was too low and the tech was unable to fix it, also the air conditioning vent was close to the side of the bed which contributed together with the elevator door bell disturbed our sleep. We were given a quiter room for the last 6 days of our stay which was ok.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel with excellent service from all staff members.

The Fairmont Royal York was just that, ROYAL ! You felt like you were aristocratic! The room was not just plain acomodating the furnishings were classy. The stay made your heart GLOW when you walked through the lobby and out to the street. Orbitz made it all possible to be there with such a great price Per night. The only thing that was a bit of a turn off about the hotel was the day we checked in and out of the elevator comes a man with 3 dogs on a leash. Animals in a hotel room climbing on the furniture and bed doesn't resonate with me. Animals have there own place as do people. If the hotel is going to allow animals they should have a kennel room. I know now why I broke out in hives while I stayed there, dander to some people like myself can be an irritating nussans.

Awesome experience! We love the location and the facility is very clean. Bed was super comfortable and view was great! Got to tour the roof top and checked out the nice garden.

Great place to stay and very nice staff. Stay in one of the newly renovated rooms for sure. Facilities are also very nice and well maintained.

Thank you for sharing your five star review! We are delighted to learn your enjoyed our close proximity to Toronto's popular attractions. For accessibility concerns, we have an elevator available at our east entrance to bypass stairs to our lobby level and we look forward to exploring additional options through future building enhancements. As well we do have accessible rooms that we always suggest contacting our reservations team to book ahead of time to ensure every guest is comfortable during their stay. Thank you for sharing this feedback and we hope to welcome you again!

Thank you kindly for your review. While we are pleased that you enjoyed our EPIC breakfast buffet and central location, we are very disappointed and concerned to hear about the issues that you encountered during your stay. We will be sure to follow up with our housekeeping team with the cleanliness concerns you experienced and assure you that this is not the atypical experience. May we also suggest joining our loyalty program to enjoy complimentary wifi in the future. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome and wow you with a flawless experience in the near future.
