Not terrible, but gross

Light above the mirror didn't work, bathroom door didn't lock or close properly, and there were toe nail clippings all over the ground. The room was definitely not vacuumed between guests.

the place is located down the alley, the description doesn't fit the photos they showed, went into the room i can't even feel comfortable! receptionist didn't even bother to check my details and straight gave the key to me without verify his customer! bad!

Good location. Room is not that nice neither clean. They do not have maps to give us. Personal was helpful given us a couple of tips. Room has a private toilet and a private bath, small but private.

Bed bugs!

We arrived late in the evening and checked into our room. Less than three hours later we have a few bug bites so we checked the beds and there were tons of bed bugs. We immediately left because one our friends has an allergy to them, and only got refunded a portion of the money we paid for the first night(because we were bitten) and no refund for the second. The bathroom was gross, and the staff was difficult and has little English. One good thing was that the staff walked us to our next hotel since it was nearby and helped with luggage.

You get what you paid for

Good location, only minutes walk away from Shinokubo Staion; also very close to Kabukicho & Shinjuku. The receptions were nice and friendly, they even lent us the weight scale for us to weight our luggage. However, I wasn't able to book a non-smoking room, so the room smelt funny. Also room condition is below average but for the price we paid, it is understandable.

Relative cheap but poor staff

Honestly, this is a not bad hostel which costs relatively cheap comparing with the hotels in same district. But the staff is not nice and reasonable who waste our time while check in. They do not well prepare our room and let us wait for 40minutes for the room after checking in! Nonetheless, they give us a wrong room which is not same with the photo provided online. I deal with them but they said the one in photo is for 4 people, but it is obviously a double room only!!! It is very non sense...

Nice but it looks like homestay more than hotel

At night a lot of public relations officers walking on the street. I just stayed there for one night but would recommend you go for another hotel if you have choices.

Tokyo Vacation

Overall, we had an excellent stay. The place is very near Shin Okubo Station in Tokyo. The hotel is very near the stores and restaurants as well. It was very cozy and the room was spacious. Excellent free wifi connection. We will definitely stay here again when we go back to Tokyo.

Hall of shame in Tokyo. Look before book....

Caution....Don't be fooled. Photo of this Hotel are not recent picture. Still, better than camping. I was born in middle of Tokyo and living in USA for 35yrs now.This time, I took my daughter to Tokyo for her first time experience. I stayed two other Hotels before this "Best Hotel" two other hotels were nice and clean. This Best Hotel looks like very old but, Expedia showing maybe 20 yrs old photos. Hotel was dark and stain all over the room and old mattress. Bathroom was also stain allover. If it was only myself, I could stay just over night but, my daughter didn't want to stay in such a one of the worst hotel in town so after 10 min, left the "Best Hotel" Front staff was OK. When I decided to leave the Hotel, I did't ask any refund.(I can't get refund anyway) but, I had another reason not to get refund this time,because I needed to write this review to show other people to see the reality.

Best Hotel.....I think not

I never write reviews as I can usually find something positve even in a bad situation but with this hotel that was not the case. We were greeted by very unfriendly staff who said they could not find our booking even though we could see it on the list,we were told to wait,the reason for the wait turned out to be that the triple room we had booked was a twin room with a mattress on the floor. Sleeping at night was very difficult due to it being so stuffy in the room,we open the window in the bathroom and propped the door open but the smell of sewage/bad drains was to much to bare. The bathroom was dirty so no one used it. Worst of all my son got up in the morning with bites all over his leg.

Budget hotel close to Shinjuku

A budget hotel close to Shinjuku, and the near station is Shinokubo, it takes 7 mins to walk to station, if you want to stay close to Shinjuku and don't want too much money waste on hotel, it is a good choice.

Cool spot

Tucked down a back alley in a really cool part of shinjuku. So much nightlife with packed streets just a few blocks away. Yu are not staying in this hotel for luxury, you are staying here for price and location. 10 minute walk to three different train/subway stations, including ten minutes to shinjuku station. Hotel is slightly older but clean, comfy beds and good showers. If you dont speak japanese, save a copy of the hotel location on a map.

Overall the place was alright--not bad or overwhelming great. You can't expect too much since the price is very affordable. The hotel is near the subway and here are many restaurants around there. The only thing I don't like is the prostitutes lingering around the hotel area from 10pm to 3am. It is pretty awkward if you go there with your family, but if you r going with a friend and tight on money I would recommend this place. The staff is friendly and helpful especially the night shift male employee but when I checked in in the morning, the two girls were not that friendly.
