I've traveled many times to Japan and this is the first place in Japan that has not been clean: dirty carpet, hairs in bathroom and sheets and dust on furniture. The room is very small (common in Japan) with pre fab bathroom that you have to step up into it (also common here but not the greatest set up to go to the bathroom at night). I booked this place for the basement Onsen (Japanese bath) but it is so busy that it takes away the peace and quiet for a relaxing experience. I have mixed feelings about the location as you have to take an extra train line (Keyio line) from Tokyo at scheduled times and this can be an added stressful feature when you are tired from touring and just want to get to your room. The food at dinner time is good in buffet style so it's a good chance to try different Japanese dishes for around 35 usd per person (not so cheap but fair for Japanese standards). In sum, I don't think I'd recommend staying here. Chose a place within the central Tokyo ring (within the Jr Yamanote line) and I think you'd be happier than being in the outskirts.
Horrible hotel. The blinds are ripping, the wall paper is peeling, the mirror is broken. Last night the room got super hot. We met people in the elevator who also said their room was too hot to sleep, they opened the window and were bitten by mosquitos. It is cold outside, so the hotel is pumping way too much heat into the rooms. We went down to the front desk. The front desk people don’t speak English and refuse to use email so we can use google translate. When we finally got to someone who would try to communicate with us through Google translate they told us that each room cannot be its own temperature and there is nothing they can do but tell us to open the window. What?! They are heating the room so hot people can’t sleep and we can’t adjust it individually?! There is a woman at the front desk who acts like she understands and just says “yes yes” to whatever we ask even when that answer doesn’t make sense. The internet is bad. This hotel has the worst service we’ve ever had and is really not a good place.
I stayed in Tokyo in a more central location and then at APA Shiomi Ekimae to go to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. This business hotel is a 2 minute walk to the Shiomi train station, which is on the line which goes to Disneyland (Maihama station)- only a 9min ride. I arrived early and was able to leave my bags at reception and I returned to check in later. The check in is through a computer, but there was an English option and the staff member helping me spoke a small amount of English. I had no language communication concerns during my stay. The room was better than I anticipated, I had a double room for myself, and found space wise this was perfect. It may be a bit tight with two people. The bathroom was small but the shower had good pressure and there was space in the bathroom to get ready. The wallpaper in the room was peeling. I stayed on a non smoking floor (there were some floor which allowed smoking). I did not try the public baths or restaurant. There is a Lawsons convenience store in the ground level of the hotel (attached to it), plus a Family Mart convenience store a 2 min walk away, and the Shiomi station also has a convenience store attached. The short walk from the train station to hotel felt safe and there were always people around. I would recommend this hotel for a Tokyo Disneyland stay, but not for a Tokyo stay as it is worth staying more central if you are planning on seeing Tokyo.
Clean, just over 8' wide. tiny bath. Very boring breakfast, adequate for a few nights, pretty small and repetitive for more than a night or 2. People were nice, amenities OK, just a bit spartan for a long stay. They do have some larger rooms, some are only 6' wide, not enough to open a suitcase.
This was the third hotel we stayed in for our family Asia Adventure. It’s hard to find clean and decent hotels on a budget in Tokyo that is close to the city centre so when I read the reviews on my this hotel I had to try it out. Myself, husband and baby shared a double room that was tiny but again you will not getting a large room for the price and quality in Tokyo with it’s close location to the city by subway. The room was clean, comfortable and the Japanese spa although the same sex nudity took some getting use too as a Brit was amazing and once in no one cared you was naked as it’s part of the Japanese culture plus we was all woman. My husband on the other hand could not bring himself to try out the men’s spa naked with other men but each to your own. As we was on a budget due to us traveling round Asia for a month we bought our meals from the local family mart in the hotel grounds for £4 you can get a bento box, rice triangles and they will warm it up for you. There is also a supermarket near the subway and other loc food places where you can sit in and eat for £4 to £5! I advise to buy the one day travel card fir £5.50 or three day pass as a tourist that you can use on the bullet train too which is a great experience as well as getting to the airport for £60. Overall great location, clean hotel with Japanese spa and laundry facilities with friendly staff for a decent price for Tokyo.
If you are told , above 175 cm be aware This hotel is a Japanese one build for Japanese so be careful your head ! Rooms are so tiny tiny All is managed by computer , team doesn’t speak English But it s comfortable, peaceful Near the Tokyo sight Near the train station Their public bath are really pleasant and spacious !
If you have ever stayed at a APA Hotel chain, they are the same fare of clean, friendly, modern hotels with all the amenities you'll need. Rooms are typically small as of most Japanese chain hotel rooms. So if you are booking a single room, don't expect much room to roam. But I typically only stay in my room to sleep, so it didn't bother me at all. The staff was very warm and welcoming. While not fluent in English, I didn't have any problem communicating with staff. The room was stocked with amenities such as toothbrush, hairbrush, shave kit, free bottle water, free WiFi and refrigerator. There is no iron or ironing board in the room, but a trouser press in the hall you can use. What I did was hang my clothes in the small modular bathroom and let the hot shower run. Worked perfectly, just be sure to leave the door shut as steam will trigger the smoke alarm. There is a coin operated clothes washer and dryer, but they are located in the changing areas of the Spa. This means they are not 24 hours and you'll encounter some nudity while attending to your laundry. The main drawback to this APA Hotel is the location. While "Tokyo" is in the title, it is off the beaten path. The Shiomi station is across the street, but this is on the slower Keiyō Line. So expect a good 15-20 minutes to get to Tokyo station. The positive is the Keiyō Line serves Tokyo Disney Resorts. I didn't see many restaurants or shops in surrounding neighborhood, but there is a grocery store next to Shiomi Station. This allowed me to grab some interesting Japanese snacks and sauces to bring home!
Like all of this style hotel this is not cheap however you do get all of the frills in the room (it's a small room) including a massive TV (that has no free channels). Location is good staff are friendly check in time time everywhere in Japan is stupid.
We stayed here 2 nights during our visit to Tokyo. We were shocked at the size of the room, in 2 ia hard to move around, however the amenities, location, comfort and the delicious breakfast make up for it. In my opinion it's not a hotel to live, but the perfect place to sleep in comfort and start the day energized (the buffet breakfast has lots of quality choices that cater for western and asian taste. I personally indulged with the Japanese variety). There is also an onsen in site. The hotel is near the JR line and a couple of stops from Tsukiji market and Tokyo station. The JR pass works on this line.
We stayed here for the convenience of Tokyo Disneyland without the resort cost. The room was immaculately clean - not a problem with it in that respect - was just really small and the size was not obvious to me on the booking site. The pillows were really hard too - we had two nights and it was ok but I probably wouldn’t stay there again just because I prefer a room that’s a bit bigger.
