I stayed only for one week because the services are badly deficient. The laundry service spoil two of my shirts by losing some buttons. The food taste the same and the buffet is mainly leftovers from the day before, also the building and rooms are old in comparison with other holidays. The transport (that is included for my company) was late 4 times, in one time they don't even bother to pick us up. An employee told me that a dump is near, that is why every night smells so bad. The worst, is when i spotted a bedbug on my bed, in the last night of the whole week!
The hotel is ok, however it is not near anything. When I was choosing a hotel, I looked at this one and the Crowne Plaza which was relativity the same price. The Crowne Plaza is downtown in the heart of everything. The holiday inn, has a restaurant and the breakfast is not included, it cost 140 for me is is expensive. Some of the food look as it was left over from the day before? The rooms and furniture is older than most holiday inns. There is not air conditioning, so it does get hot in the room when you are not there.
The hotel lobby is nice and big, the restaurant looks traditional and most of the staff it's very friendly, got a room upgrade because my IHG membership, they have a small indoor pool which is good for kids but it might be quite dangerous, in order to keep the overall hotel look&feel, the floor in the pool area it's dangerous specially when wet, they MUST have anti-slippery mat specially surrounding the pool, I fell outside the pool had a small cut in my ankle and when notified the front desk they just acknowledged it. When I tried to post my review they simply blocked it saying that I was making reference to another hotel (which is false!!), I tried twice and twice they blocked my review, hopefully TripAdvisor is neutral and this review will help others to be more cautious especially if you bring kids!!!, USE THE POOL WITH EXTREME CAUTION!!!.
Was in the area for business. So we picked this little gem. I have to say the hotel staff is exceptional! I was there for 5 days...so I got to know them a little. A fabulous bunch. Especially in the restaurant! Room were pretty standard. Everything I needed. They even had the NFL network in English. Fantastic. Only thing I would note...they told us not to walk around the neighborhood for safety concerns. That's fine...we ubered to Masaryk...and it was only $22, in a SUV. Fantastic! Oh...and if eating in the restaurant, get the chicken fajitas! My god those are great!
Great hotel to stay. Good service in general, gym and pool area. Near of attractions and malls. Easy access to high ways. Rooms are comfortable. Good mexican food. Lobby with very good first look. Personnel easy going and respectful. Free valet parking. Just a lot of traffic.
July 7 Hotel is fire. No security system worked. No alarms, no sprinklers or plant emergency or emergency lights. Put simply did not work at all. The worst of it in a few days were already working and only one quarter said they burned, when the reality is that it was the fourth and third floors. Not recommended. I was about to get caught. Annex pictures of how it turned out the room
Very old hotel in need of a renovation. On day one at check in my reservation was incorrect. I was given a 2 double room at a higher rate when I reserved a king. The front desk made it right and my original reservation has honored. The room was sparsely furnished with worn furniture. The plumbing does not work correctly. It took four flushes to get the toilet to work and the shower drain was slow. The AC did not work, the room was constantly hot. Internet was touch and go, wired did not work. The restaurant had a limited menu and the food was not stellar. The breakfast buffet was not very good. Except for one morning they must have had some critic or executive there, the chefs and staff was waiting on her hand and foot. The food that day was all fresh and all items were available. All other days that was not the story. The only redeeming aspect of this hotel was the staff. They were all very friendly and attentive. The location of this hotel is in an industrial area, no restaurants or shopping within walking distance. This is defiantly not a pleasure hotel. Business maybe, but not for more than a night or two. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Save your back the pain and misery of sleeping on the hardest, most uncomfortable mattress and pillows in Mexico. Like sleeping on a tile floor. Air conditioning didn't work, walls are paper thin, breakfast buffet voucher is under lock and key, you have to go through a 5 point checklist to receive it and the food isnt even good. American dinner menu is not safe either. I ordered a cheeseburger, they dropped the burger onto the griddle and placed the cheese on it immediatly. Never cooked the other side of the burger. Then they didnt understand why i wanted both sides of the burger cooked. Just stay somewhere else
Although the people at this hotel are very nice and give a good service, there is one thing that causes the low rating for this hotel: the air conditioning that did not work! The first night I slept here, I was quite jetlagged and due to late arrival and early departure, I simply thought I had not switched the air conditioning on correctly. I returned to this hotel after some days and the room that I got was very hot and stuffy. A maintenance guy came pretty fast – nothing wrong with the service level at this hotel – and could not repair it, as he said it worked. As this room was placed on the sunshine side of the building, I got another room at the other side – again the service is quite OK. Unfortunately, this room was also pretty warm, so there seems to be something wrong with their air conditioning system in general. I have a little thermometer in my alarm clock that showed that the temperature was between 28 and 29 degrees centigrade. I was lucky that I could cancel my reservation for another night later that week. The breakfast was pretty impressive, especially if you like the Mexican dishes. The dinner however was nothing special, but OK for the price. I cannot recommend this hotel at all.
Towards the end of a longer stay in this hotel, I am starting to get seriously worn out by this place... It just doesn't work for me. Here are my plusses and minuses. Just to name a few. + - Low rates (but considering the minuses, not a good value) - Rooms are reasonably sized, well equipped and clean - Good breakfast buffet if you like Mexican food - - As others have mentioned, the gym is poorly equipped and half of the machines don't work properly. Not good enough for a satisfying workout. - Internet is spotty; on and off most of the time - not good enough to connect to company VPN reliably - Staff entering room without knocking (i.e., trying to - I had the deadbolt on) - Restaurant is poor for dinner; limited choices and food not tasty; the Chef Salad gave me minor food poisoning (and I don't have a sensitive stomach) - Located in industrial neighborhood where there's nothing around except a convenience store 5 min walk away; no issue if you have a car or don't mind taking taxis/shuttles - many restaurants 10 min drive away - Rooms facing the street are never completely quiet: Heavy truck traffic - No functioning air conditioning; A/C just creates a draft of warm air at any setting
